I have decided to determine the best team in the Nation, but there is a fancy way of doing this: Go from State to Regional to National Tourneys. Since this very site has to do with Kentucky, I figured this would be the right place to post the Kentucky one. I have divided the state into 4 regions: North, South, East, and West. I grouped Louisville with the West, since otherwise the North would dominate the whole thing, and we wouldn't get the TRUE best, since you'd #1, #2, and #3 in the state in one region.

Keep in mind that the top seed plays the bottom seed in the first round (Like 1 vs 16, 8 vs 9, etc)

 

Just wanted to ask, who do we think would win such a tournament to get the Best in the State bragging rights? Who advances to the Regional from Kentucky? Who do you think?

So Newport Catholic is not in the top 16 in the North?

some ranking mistakes, West - Paducah Tilghman is not in the 16 West teams as they rank 43rd state wide while they are seeded 8 between D Manuel at 14 and PRP at 18

 

The entire west bracket, having Louisville in it gives it the majority of the top teams by a large margin, they have 1,2,4,6,8, 10, 14, 18,20,21,23,24,26,28,29.

I'll admit- For Northern Kentucky, Lexington, and Louisville, there were so many good teams That I actually Ran out of room.

 

I had to move Louisville to the west to prevent it from being north heavy, but Apparently that Caused the West to be heavy... and the East to be weak as anything. I was trying to make it actually represent a location.

 

Also, are you looking at the MaxPrep rankings? When I wrote this the Tuesday 10/11 Rankings were used.

I looked Max up because I knew Tilghman was rated lower than Mayfield and I was correct. Mayfield was 20 and PT 43

Can we get the Committee Chairman on? I'd like to see if CovCath and NewCath were in the the 1st 4 out. Can they atleast play in a play-in game in Dayton, OH?

1) Spencer County (considered Louisville metro) and Scott County (considered Lexington metro) should be flipped. While those two schools are in different brackets from schools they are in districts/regions with is beyond me.

 

2) Although you got rid of classes, you did NOT get rid of the issue at play: If Male and Trinity are the best two teams, why CAN'T they face off in the final (in this case, they would play in the quarters).

Kill is a far fetched you are correct, but could OC beat Christian? Yes.

No Shelby County? Franklin? Collins?
