Cooper 27 Ryle 21

Featured Replies

They handled Cooper who did the same thing to Ryle. Seems like a pretty good gap.

I wouldn't say only scoring 6 in an entire half for a team that was avg'ing over 50 a game at that point and being held to their season low as well as not

Facing the best RB Cooper has is necessarily a big gap between the two.

Pretty sure everyone, players included a fan of TCA and no disrespect intended. My only disappointment was Hendrix taunting in front of Ryle bench. He made some great catches against a dismal secondary. Go with it and get back in the huddle.

Dismal secondary? I believe there were some Ryle

Fans weeks leading up to this game touting how great Ryles secondary was and how their best CB was going to shut Hendrix down. So are they a bad secondary now because Hendrix continued his streak of over 100 yds recieving over the last 3 weeks in a row at least?

Don't blame Ryles secondary because of Hendrix. No one has been able to stop him yet.

So if winning by 19 points and more than doubling them up in total yards from scrimmage isn't a big gap what would constitute a big gap?

I'd say they are #1 and Cooper #2 is all I would say. Now if SK wasn't blowing teams out by 5 TD's + every game I would agree with you but the fact that if you followed the game and realized a pick 6 was dropped by Cooper and a TD wasn't given to Cooper by a horrible spot by the refs you would realize it could have been 5 pt difference instead of 19. So SK is better, but knowing Cooper was without TCA the entire game and held the best RB who has been getting 200 or more yards going into that game down to a season low of 60 yds. Yea I would say the gap isn't as big as you think it is.

In the end it really doesn't matter because if you want to talk about gaps, there is a Grand Canyon sized gap between the top 2 teams in Louisville and every single team in NKY.

Oh where to start? First off weren't you the one berading people for mentioning injuries when it came to the Lex Cath Cooper game? Second go view the hudl video the spot was correct. While your at it view the SK catch at the one yardline that was ruled out of bounds I think you will see he was clearly in bounds. That would have been a first and goal from the one instead of a missed FG. The 2pt conversion ruled out of bounds on the last SK score was incorrect also. Third I am not sure why SKs margin of victory in other games is even mentioned in this argument. I mean SK only scored 37 against Boone but still one handily. As for the dropped int I am not so sure he scores on that. Finally you brag on holding Powell to 60 yards yet you don't mention the fact that SK still ran for 180 yards for the game including 90 by Racke. Oh and by the way about 75% of Cooper's offense was gained on two plays.

Not sure what the two Louisville schools have to do with anything in this debate but I am still curious how often have you seen the two Louisville schools?

You don't have to visually see Trinity, St X and Male to know that they are still very dominant 6A teams. The teams up here "may" (and I say that weakly) be able to hang with them, but until it is proven, we are still behind those three programs. And yes that does include SK.

After taking the L to Cooper, I look for Ryle to be on the move to prove something when they play Conner and SK. That SK game is going to be a showdown, just as the Ryle/ Cooper game. I don't know whose fence you sit on, but be realistic.

Really?? Just two plays? You need to watch the film again.

Yep I did say injuries are part of the game and not excuses. I also didn't say if TCA was healthy and played that game that Cooper would have won. Never said they would have or wouldn't have. You missed my point. The point I was making was simple. SK has been averaging scoring over 50 pts a game going into the cooper game and EVEN WITHOUT TCA Cooper still kept it a lot closer than many predicted seeing how some predictions stated SK would win by as many as 7 TD's etc. Cooper also holding Powell to 60 yards and only allowing SK to score 6 points in a half tells me that Cooper does have a shot at playing with them if they meet again.

That was the point.

19 points isn't a blow out.

Did you think Ryle Cooper game was a blowout with a minute left?

You talk about the Boone game. how long did the SK starters play in that game?

Really?? Just two plays? You need to watch the film again.

don't bother, he already showed his bias.

I saw them as many times as I saw SK this year.

Seeing how this is a Ryle Cooper game thread I'm not sure why you keep talking about SK and what they have to do with anything in the first place.

With that said, are you saying SK will win state this year?

I did not bring SK up in this thread. I responded to one of your posts by simply asking a question as to why you see a 19 point deficit in a game not being a large margin. You gave your reasons why you think it was closer than the score indicated and I gave mine as to why I thought it was not. You continually bring up previous scores of SK games saying we played them closer, well that is right for the most part. Both CAL and Bryan Station were closer but the others were not. Predictions by fans have zero relevance in the outcome of this game. I never said this game was a blow out but I will say this game was clearly controled by SK and the game was never in doubt. As for the 6 points allowed in the second half that happens constantly with SK. When they are up several scores play calling gets very conservative and more about clock management than scoring points. By the way holding Dillon to 60 yards rushing in a game has no relevance when you give up 180 total team rushing yards. SK's coaches will gladly have Dillon only gain 60 if they run for 180 as a team.

As for the Louisville schools they are ranked where they should be. They have consistantly shown their domination over NKY schools. That doesn't mean they should be put on a pedastal. When you bring them up in conversation about two NKY teams it makes it sound like who cares who is better because neither team will beat them. I don't know about you guys but I would much rather have my shot against them than to have lost in the second or third round of the playoffs.

Ryle needs to figure out who they are on O. They were successful last year and many picked them to be the team to beat in NKy because of the identity they established last year, which was being very physical and handing the ball to Colin England, who if not the best is one of the top 5 RBs up here. Per Nkysports.com he's averaging 8 YPC, but simply not getting enough touches. Feed the beast!! Looks like the O coord is attempting to showcase his QB. I get that he is a really good QB, but not sure they have the receiving Corp to match him. Give the dang ball to 7 and the rest will take care of itself.

Great high school atmosphere. Hard to believe that there are 2 Union high schools now. Both teams had great support in the stands.

For Cooper. Their QB looked just as good (or better) than Ryles QB. More mobile, smart with the ball, good size and quickness(not as much zip on his passes as Ryles QB). His sideline pass to Hendrix in the 3rd quarter was nice and a fantastic diving catch by Hendrix (looked like Brandon Tate catch for the Bengals last week). Hendrix was a big difference maker in this game. Kid can play. Also thought Marcus Watson and Justin Schlarman played a great game. Congrats to Cooper on the W.

Have to say after watching the game I was impressed by Cooper. Seemed like a tight game but looking back, Cooper had Ryle's number Friday night. I was confused by who the D1 qb was, Brown was impressive, more so than Ryle's qb. I believed Ryle was more athletic but I did not see that in person. The go to players were non existent, I noticed Ryle's qb wouldn't take a hit to get his team a first down, the defense I think made him vulnerable and where were all the athletes, on the sidelines? Have to give this one to Cooper's coaching staff, I believe that was where the real victory lies! So I'm eating crow, thought Ryle was a much better team however after seeing Cooper I'm not so sure, the raiders were just too predictable! Hope they change a few things before they meet the monsters in Independence in two weeks, or the fright of Halloween will come a week early for the raiders!!
