Not even close. SK is a great NKY team but not in the same zipcode of Trinity or Male this year.

Great game Jags! Undefeated at home this season. In the driver seat to win their first 6a division championship.

Not bad for a team some thought couldn't compete in this class.

Congrats to the Jags on the W and my apologies...I chose Ryle and have eluded to a Ryle-SK battle in the playoffs once things "sort themselves out."

 

It's possible that matchup will be Cooper-SK in the playoffs...

Best part of the game. It was very well played. No players got Chippie and their was a lot of respect from these kids as they have played with and against eachother since they were in grade school. Would love to see them meet again in the regionals.

Chuckle, we'll see if that's the case. Though, honestly, the Rocks are focused more on a rematch with Male than anything else at this point.

Cooper always makes us play ugly. Great at what they do. 8 in the box but retreat well on passes and locate the under routes while staying over the top of the deep ones. Very disciplined D.

Great game by the Jags. Cooper took advantage of some big turnovers late in game. Fumble on big KR did them in I think. Brown/Hendrix combo was on fire again once they started connecting. Michels played well also, had one pass where he was open by 15 yards and missed catch but got whacked but still came back and played hard.

 

Ryle stopped inside run A LOT, blitzing LB set that up a lot. Morgan throws well but Cooper DBs wouldn't let him go too deep

 

Post game meal will be crow....

And Cooper won this game in the second half too.

I may be wrong but I have never seen Cooper with 8 in the box except goal line defense. Today was no exception, looked like a 3-4 with Schlarman as an inside Lb, lining up 6 yards off the ball ministering the Ryle RB. Seven guys in the box is what I kept seeing and every once in a while 5.

 

Pretty much cover 4 the whole game for Cooper.

Never once said they would win state this year. Guess what? Neither will SK.

 

Winning district the first year they moved up to 6A from 5A though proves they can play at this level. Being #2 in NKY behind SK is not too shabby either.

I counted the box plenty of times from up top. Maybe not tight in the box but close and played downhill first two to three steps. When we went 4 wide no. But if we had a back in yes.

You are 100% correct. They played a 3-4 today and their front 3 still had Morgan running around a lot. The three headed monster for Ryle was non existent. Congrats to Cooper's front 3 tonight.

 

 

With that said. Morgan is a stud. Made some great tight throws. 3 years he is a whole new QB. His freshman year he didn't have near the velocity he has now and he will be fun to watch on Saturdays.

 

2 DI Qb's this year and Cooper came out on top. Not bad.

 

The only bad play N Brown made was his INT. He could have ran for 20 yards in that play but tried to make something happen and threw into double coverage. Other than that play he played great IMO.
