Bishop Brossart 36 Bracken County 0

Featured Replies

Wow

Bracken was in it early. Start of the third quarter was brutal on them.

Thought this would've been closer.

Too many untimely penalties to overcome. Had a big TD run called back. Had several 2nd or 3rd and short when an offsides would occur. Had an opportunity at a big TD reception and was just a touch over thrown. We didn't play bad though. Brossart earned every point.

Brossart has played better. I thought they played to the level of competition in the first half, which was sloppy. Keep learning and surviving!

Very nice win for Brossart. I thought they would win but also thought it would be a closer score.

Mustangs draw off to a 36-0 win, in what was a game throughout the first half.

Frank Cetrulo made two touchdown receptions from Craig Pfefferman at the 4:44 of the first period and again with 3:39 reminaing in the half. Cetrulo himself did honors on both PAT connections, giving the visitors a 14-0 advantage at intermission. A note of interst is that the Polar Bears answered with a touchdown shortly following Cetrulo's first score which was negated by a personal foul call, and the Mustangs had a T.J. Moore score called back on a flag. Both recalls in the first half.

The Mustangs utilized the services of Senior Nathan See for two scores in the third quarter, the first on a 19 yard aerial from Pfefferman, and the second on a 50 yard solo run. Ceturlo knocked through his third PAT of the night on See's first score, and converted a 2-Point conversion on See's second effort.

The Mustangs sent the contest to a running clock early in the fourth quarter when Frank Cetrulo rambled 52 yards through a Bracken County defensive minefield, and following his own fourth successful PAT made the final score 36-0 and turning the contest over to both teams' JV units.

The Mustangs, now 7-0 on the season, and 2-0 in Class 1-A, District 5 competiton travel to Paris next Friday night to take a whack at the Paris Greyhounds, prohibitive favorites to be the District 5 champions, who improved to 3-0 in the district, dodging a bullet from Nicholas County 12-7.

Count me on board as one who thought Brossart would win. I thought it would be much closer. The Mustangs are having a very nice season and couldn't be happier for them.

It was nice to chat with Mustang pre and post game last night. Always great catching up with him. Look forward to seeing you again this upcoming Basketball season :thumb:

Nice job Brossart

Ditto!!!

I also had a chance to chat briefly with Jason Hinson, all decked out in Bracken County blue. He seems to be truly happy being the head coach of the Polar Bears and likes what he has seen from his team thus far.

Just wish Brossart would get some respect in the bgp rankings.

Let's wait and see how we do with Paris. I think we are quite content to be holding down the #10 spot. While 7-0 we are still discovering ourselves. We should know a lot more about running with big dawgs (Hounds) next week at this time.
