In your scenario true, however, Smith had his back to the Holy Cross player and was forced into the ball. Had Smith let the ball bounce into him, then I would agree with you, but it didn't happen that way.

To be clear, even if Smith simply muffed the ball or let it hit him it would have been a touchback.

IMO Xavier Abernathy was the best player on the field last night if you watch both sides of the ball.

Of course you do. Shocker. Not even close, Smith and Barnes were the two players I kept going to, so I do watch both sides.

I believe that on kickoffs but Punts are different.

Incorrect

@Clyde, hypothetical question. If the runner picks the punt up at the two, is hit, and fumbles the ball into the endzone, that would be a safety?

TD if recovered by D. Safety, otherwise.

Kick is over since he took possession of the ball.

Were you at the game on Friday? Did you see any of these young men play? If not you then how can have opinion on how anyone played...

I finally got to see the punt myself yesterday on film. Definitely a touchback.

Yes. I was there. Just like you I am entitled to my opinion, and mine is unbiased. Had you ever come back into the BW HC thread you would have seen my opinion was the same then, but you chose to duck out and not own up to your outlandish predictions there about skill kids and your perception there of.

I didn't have anything nice to say about the BW/HC game so I said nothing. If you ever want to chat about it I am more then willing to give you my unfiltered opinion. I'll say it again I'll take my guys Williams, Barnes and Abernathy over any skill players in NKY... Slusher is a monster and I'm not taking anything away from everything that he as accomplished but I prefer 220lbs athletes over 185lbs.
