Don't worry about how a hotdog is made...

...just sit back and enjoy the end result.

There's a life lesson in there somewhere.:thumb:

I've actually watched how the sausage is made. You really don't want to know. Just know that it tastes good.

Exactly.

Kind of like the "Haigis" they tried to serve me while in Scotland.

Same with Vienna Sausage. Don't dare read the ingredients. Just grab a few crackers and enjoy. Cans of this product are popular at our golf course clubhouse.

Haggis could be worse, given what it's made from. Then again, I like chitlins'.

No, no, no. That stuff ain't fit for soldiers in the Civil War. That or that nasty "potted meat" whatever it is. Spam feels like fine dining next to that atrocious crap.

That "stuff" is considered a delicacy in some parts of eastern Kentucky, lol. My dad was an avid fox hunter (a dying sport) until he was unable to do it anymore due to his age by about 1980. He rarely left home for a hunting night without cans of Vienna Sausage or potted meat, and crackers, in his possession.

Yeah, I carried that stuff in my Boy Scout and other long-term hiking days. It's a means of last resort; not a delicacy. It stays way the hell down at the bottom of your pack.

I've seen hot dogs made, and it's all about the manufacturer. Some use leftovers and some use quality parts.

As for potted meat, I haven't had that in years. I grew up eating potted meat on bread or crackers with mustard. My grandfather always had a jar of jalapenos to go with his. I preferred dill pickles at times with mine.

I love that stuff. Back when I drove a rock truck for a living, I ate vienna and crackers for lunch almost everyday. Then, it was usually a couple bologna sandwiches, plain chips and Pepsi or Mt Dew for supper. I've not had either in a really long time.

FWIW, I love pickled bologna.

My son had a part time job working in a meat plant while in college.T his was about 25 years ago. to this day he will not eat hot dogs
