Regional Championship 2008: The Rams held a 20-3 lead at half time and LCA rattled off 24 unanswered points thanks to the scrambling and arm of Lucas Whitt (i believe that was his name, graduated with Hayden and Burnette). Great ball game.

 

New Cath/Danville, 2006 State Final game: I cant remember the score but Danville was up 4 or 5 TDs at the half, then New Cath stormed back and the shoot out was on. Also possibly the coldest high school football game I have ever been to.

Down 35 with about 9 minutes left if memory serves.

Won 82-68.

Thought they were going to have to bring in new refs to finish the game, as much running they had to do in this game.

Fun to watch.

 

I was at that game, and this would be mine as well. Hines' big boys just wore out Waggener. Alfonso Smith was amazing that game, but Cole Draughn was much better.

Pendleton was down 22-0 to Jackson a few weeks ago with 9 minutes left. Came back to win 29-22.

How about Brossart football? On the verge of extinction and now they look to be competitive in class A. Pretty good come back story if you ask me.

Nobody on their schedule this year is looking at them as an easy win, that's for sure.

The 2002 semi-final game with Russell against Breathitt County. Russell led the game by 15 points going into the fourth quarter. Breathitt came back to tie the game at the end of regulation. I think it was either two or three O/T later that Russell missed the PAT to end the game. Breathitt beat Corbin the following week to win the state championship by 60-0.

 

I think this was the best Russell team in the past 25 years. Even better than the 2004 and 2005 teams.

1985 playoffs, St X was ahead of Trinity 14-0, late in the 3rd quarter. Late in the quarter Trinity scored a safety. Two fourth quarter touchdowns gave Trinity a 17-14 win on the way to the 1985 title. In 2012, Trinity down to Scott County 14-0 with about 8 minutes left, only to rally for a 21-14 win also ranks up there.

Greatest comeback I have seen was the 1999 4A State Semi-Finals where St.X played at Hopkinsville. Hopkinsville dominated the first half and led 21 - 0 with 13 seconds left in the first half. St. X returned the kickoff after Hopkinsville's 3rd TD of the half to the Hoptown 27, setting up a 44 yard field goal for X on the last play of the half. St. X had 5 plays from scrimmage in the first quarter. 2 INT's in 2nd quarter. Hopkinsville 21 - 3 at the half! St. X clawed their way back into the game and was down 21 - 16 with 1:53 remaining in the game. Hopkinsville had a 4th and 2 from the X 12 yard line and decided to go for it instead of the field goal to seal the game. Hoptown was stopped for a one yard gain. St. X marched 89 yards and capped it with a game winning TD pass of 25 yards with 14 seconds left. The extra point failed. Final St. X 22 - Hopkinsville 21.

 

St. X went on to defeat Bryan Station in the 4A final by a score of 34 - 31 in OT. That Bryan Station team was lead by junior Eric Shelton who in the quarter finals pinned 229 yards rushing on the Kevin Wright Trinity defense.

1978 or 1979 Lex Lafayette was down 2 or 3 Tds to Trinity at halftime and came back to win in regulation. Lafayette had a pretty nice back named George Adams. Sorry I can't remember more details.
