September 22, 201511 yr I go so infrequently that I don't go to review sites. For books, it's almost always Goodreads.
September 22, 201511 yr The A.V. Club Been reading the A/V Club for years. I've always liked Nathan Rabin's reviews. I used to be an avid reader of the late Roger Ebert. He and Leonard Maltin are the two I like best for reading about old movies.
September 22, 201511 yr I try to stay as far away from reviews as I can. If the premise interests me, I'll watch it and form my own opinions, regardless of what critics say I should think about it.
September 22, 201511 yr I'll use multiple but mainly to see if it is a movie both me and my bride will enjoy. We've all seen some duds that were "highly acclaimed" and some great movies that others hated.

September 22, 201511 yr I use either BGP or listen to what my daughter tells me she hears from people as they leave the movie theater where she works.
September 22, 201511 yr Wesley Morris from Grantland is my guy, I usually agree with him but he can be much more harsh than myself. He's moving to the New York Times so hopefully their site is free, if not I'll have to find a new reviewer.
September 23, 201511 yr I almost never read reviews from real critics. I typically just see what people say about them on here. Honestly though, if I think a preview or story looks good, I go. I'm not usually swayed into seeing a movie from other's opinions anymore. Just don't go to enough. Probably down to 3-4 movies a year. Used to probably go to 12-15.
September 23, 201511 yr I search through MRQE. For older movies I always find Ebert's reviews. Since he's passed I look for James Berardenelli's reviews. I tend to only read reviews after I've seen the movie and compare my own thoughts with the reviewers.
September 23, 201511 yr Roger Ebert's site is still great and Grantland's Wesley Morris is great. I also highly recommend this site by a local kid - THE REEL.
September 23, 201511 yr Big fan of meta critic and rottentomatoes. On RT I will give anything 70 or above a chance if the premise intrigues me. I find that the get it right more often than not.
