Most people thought my prediction of the Purples vs Dragons was going to be way off, I got pretty close as far as the point difference and I will say the same for this game. In fact, I am calling for a pretty impressive win margin each of the next several weeks (until week 3 in playoffs vs Red Devils).

 

I say Purples put up 42 vs Central Hardin 10. Time for Carruthers to get his yards!

If Bowling Green hangs 42 on Central Hardin, I will be stunned, Central Hardin defense has given up:

Boyle County: 21 points, easily their low point total of the season and arguably the best team in 3A

Paducah Tilghman: 25 points, all came through the air

Bullitt East: 13 points, 133 rushing yards allowed

South Warren: 24 points allowed, mostly on short yardage turnovers. 139 rushing yards allowed.

John Hardin: 21 Points, 141 rushing yards allowed.

 

I am not saying that Central will win, but to say that a Tim Mattingly led defense will have 42 points pasted on it is obsurd.

Central Hardin will hopefully improve at the QB position as the season progresses, will undoubtedly win their last 4 games in preparation for the playoffs

I have a lot of faith in Bowling Greens defense and defensive staff. They have been #1 in 5A in points allowed for like 5 consecutive years I believe.

Looks like Central Hardin will have Alex Bibb back on the defensive line for the Bowling Green game after sitting out last week with a concussion. FB Xavier Arnette (MCL strain) will not be available for this game but should be back after the bye week for the Collins game. Disappointing, would have liked to have seen Central Hardin at full strength for Bowling Green. Arnette is a big presence inside and the offense doesn't look the same without him.

HCP, thanks for the info! I know you're dissappointed. I have heard you speak of Arnette this season and wanted to see him play, but lose a battle and win the war as they say. Hope he is fully recovered for your guys next game as the BG game is not a district game. Your defense is still good and relatively in tact, correct? I dont see BG focusing on running the ball up the middle. I think they will focus on trying to get to the edges coupled with a short to medium passing game.

Defense should be at full strength, with Arnette and Krupinski missing from the offensive backfield. Short to medium passing game should be you greatest weapon as yards rushing will be hard to come by. Again, if Central is unsucessful running the ball, their passing game is rudimentary. Reece Iler struggles with accuracy down the field.

Not so sure Bibb is back. Think he still sits this one out. Could be an entertaining game as the playbook was opened up a little more against John Hardin. Central will be ready but more concerned for district play.

Questionable for Bibb, think Coach wants him fully healthy after bye week

I watched some tape of Warren Central/ Bowling Green and recognized a play used against John Hardin in the 2012 State Quarterfinals. The hook and ladder used to perfection. Must be part of the playbook and not a trick play, per say? Impressed with team speed.
