This game was much closer on the field than on the scoreboard.

 

Hoptown dominated time of possession and actually outgained CC in yards. CC secondary looked good so Johnson had a terrible throwing night. 16-43 for 326 was the line I think I heard.

 

Both teams showed staunch running defense. Christian County actually had negative total rushing yards heading into the 4th quarter, finished with 36 attempts for 64 I think. Hoptown had 24 attemps for 34 yards.

 

It was all about the passing game and Hoptown missed their chances and Christian County hit theirs. As I said earlier this year, Hoptown's weakness is their secondary. A good passing team will show. Kenner had 2 catches for 96 yds and 2 TDs.

 

This game really could have been the same score but in the opposite direction if Hoptown caught a couple and County didn't.

 

County played a great game and deserved this win! I do not think they have a chance against the big boys in 5A. The same as I don't think Hoptown has a chance against the big boys in 4A

They'd better beat Owensboro if they want that to happen. I highly, HIGHLY doubt that will happen.

If you're talking about Christian County, they're in 5A. If you're talking about Hoptown, I remain dubious, even now, about Hoptown making it to that point, but it would be at the Stadium of Champions if they were to make it.

Dragonfire....I agree on both. Neither team will be making it out of the region this year. But they both have some great sophomore QBs

Card your going to get people disliking us if you don't tone it down some. Glad there is county fan on here and like your euthansism but let's take little steps at time. Hoptown played hard and Johnson is something else. Their defense wheels and deals and is very good against the run. Great atmosphere probably the best in many years.

I do feel if County keeps improving they can play with the big boys in 5A. County is still very young and only play about 4/5 seniors meaningful minutes. The BG showed we still got a long ways to go. Lost in the score was Christian was sble to get 18 first downs against BG but turnovers killed several good drives. Playing in the sun and having 8/9 guys both ways took its toll on County. Again hats off to the Tigers for playing hardy and making plays. Think Hoptown will finish 9-1 and will b a tuff out in 4A. Good luck to both teams!
