Scott showed tons of resolve tonight , overcoming penalties and at least two turnovers that HC turned into points . Tonight's game is one that in years past the Eagles what have buckled and found a way to lose . Ron Rice was huge tonight on both sides of the ball and may be the best game of his high school career. Pleasant , London and Perrin were all on the field at the same time for the first time all year and it showed , the Eagles are loaded with athletes that can make plays . It was a great win for them tonight. As for the Scott parents in the stands I will admit they showed some passion and had fun but nothing I would call excessive.

Holy Cross was in control most of the game, taking advantage of Scott turnovers and making some big plays on special teams. They just didn't have enough in the tank to sustain it for 4 quarters, and Scott finally took control in the 4th to pull away.

Key was the Scott D Line taking over down the stretch and blowing up anything HC tried to run. The Rice kid is rather impressive at DE, and he really was the difference in the 4th.

 

Unfortunately less than impressed with the adults in the Scott section. Had a lady cause a scene in the press box because she felt the HC announcer didn't get excited enough when calling the Scott plays, had someone blowing an officials whistle into the 2nd half and had several chanting at the HC student section once Scott finally took control. Left a lot to be desired...

I for one was puzzled why HC charged Scott fans more for tickets than the HC fans. Then some of the adults in HC section had the nerve to tell people where they could and could not sit. How soon we forget that HC has to use Holmes field and at times has used Scott facilities as well. So dont act like HC is holier tha thou because they are not. The pregame music had more than enough profanity in it to be a Catholic school.

Holy Cross Hall of Fame member Pat Taney was honored before the game with a moment of silence. The long-term supporter, fan and pillar of Holy Cross passed away last night. I heard that his wife, Mary Gayle, was at the game tonight. Now that is the definition of fans.

I will try to answer as many of you comments as possible.

1) Many HC fans have fall season passes.

2) It makes sense to sit as fans on the side of the 50 yard line where your cheerleaders are.

3) HC appreciates the opportunity to play at both Holmes and Scott (when necessary) for home games.

4) We should all strive for holiness IMO.

5) I'm not sure who provided the pregame music and I agree that it was a little profane. When I walked into the press box before the game, none of the HC personnel had arrived yet. I'm pretty sure it was not HC provided music.

Maybe become a HC Booster Club member, could save you some money? For the record I have no clue but some schools have things like this for members.

Scott fan have fall passes as well but our prices are listed and are the same for all who attend that dont have them. As far as the music goes, its HC's pressbox so the music contents are their responsiblity. I saw HC staff in there while the music was being played. Covington Indepenedent schools does not allow Holmes to play that type of music so someone from HC was in control.

No problem with student sections having a spirited war of words. Adults going at at student section? Not so much.
