As a wise sage once told me, a win, is a win, is a win. Dixie was ready to play this evening and did some really nice things. Great crowd for Homecoming. Conner did just enough to win.

Ugly game for both teams IMO. Poor tackling and poor offensive line play. Neither QB had time to throw. Both teams had some key fumbles on drives in the 2nd half.

 

Dixie scored with 6:30 left in the game to make it 13-12. They went for 2 and the RB was met by the defender as soon as he received the ball. That was the ball game.

 

If I'm Conner coaches, I'm working on getting 24 more touches. Seems to be the biggest playmaker for the Cougers.

I missed that as I didn't get there until the 2nd. Dixie had issues with him every time he touched it. I was very surprised in his limited number of touches.

That is a very popular opinion amongst the "coaches" in the stands. Kid can play.

Considering the average margin of defeat for Dixie in it's first three games was 27 points. To hold Conner to two scores and lose by one is a big step in the right direction. The Colonels are starting to gain traction.

 

And they did fight their way back into this one and put themselves into a position to win the game. Congrats to Conner on the W. Ebarb in space was the difference. Nice call on the end around in the 4th quarter to Isaiah which took the Cougars deep into the Dixie red zone leading to the eventual game winning score.

 

Dixie has two more games against Boone and Cooper before district play starts on 10/9 against Highlands. They've got a lot of work ahead for them, however, they appear to be getting better one game and rep at a time. Ideally by Highlands, Cameron Barrett is off IR and contributing to Colonel success.
