Just to be curious why do you think that? Do you base that on a specific performance or flaw from DeSales?

More than Ballard and given both teams' performance against Manual. I'm less than worried about their chances against NCC or Danville.

 

Also, my original question remains valid as it was asked before that game.

Fern Creek, is a solid football team. They reminded me of some of those Central teams a few years ago. Fern Creek would beat Boyle Co, Just as DeSales would beat Danville.

Desales would be favored against Danville, I will give you that. But Boyle Co. is more than a solid Football team. I was told to get out of Danville more earlier in this thread, You guys might want to get out of Louisville some time.:wave:

Boyle is a good football team. They put a running clock on Danville I believe. I believe Fern Creek to be better than Boyle. We had a war with Fern Creek last night. Danville has a great tradition, I'll give you that. But NCC owns the east, and until you guys can beat them, then everything else is pointless. We have our own battles here in the west, Mayfield, CAL, Murray, which by the way i would favor all 3 against Danville.

Believe me I'd love for us to play Danville, I just don't see it happening.

Fern Creek's best win is against Desales, they lost to Dupont Manual, FC's other victories are against teams with a combined record of 4-11. I'm not even sure how good Manual is. Boyle Co. would dominate Fern Creek. As for the east NCC will be the team to beat to get to the finals. If Danville were to meet them in the semi's NCC would definitely be favored especially since the game would be at NCC. I think Mayfield is the team to come out of the West no problem and would be a strong favorite to beat Danville, on the other hand CAL and Murray don't concern me. Danville does have a strong tradition, Clay Clevenger is making strides getting the ADS back to the glory days, and if he does it will be back to Mayfield and Danville dominating this Class.:thumb:

Danville has one of top programs in the state. I know they haven't been up to their normal standards recently but it seems they are playing solid ball now. I never underestimate Danville....their fans know their team and tell it like it is... they know football.

I'd love to see a Fern Creek/Boyle matchup. Would be an outstanding game. I also think a Desales/Boyle or a Mayfield/Boyle would be great games. I know Boyle is very, very good this year, but, someone said they thought they were a Top 3 team in the state in any class, I think that's giving them a little too much credit. IMO, there's at least 7 6a teams alone I'd favor over them, another 4 teams in 5a and 4a and maybe another 2-3 teams in the other classes I'd give an advantage to. In saying that, that's still saying they're a Top 15 team or so in the entire state which isn't bad at all..

I was the one who said top 3 in any class maybe I would consider top 5, but they are a machine. A team that has excellent execution. Maybe the best coaching staff in the State who puts them where they need to be to win games. They rarely turn the ball over. You turn the ball over they make you pay. A very patient team that keeps the foot on the gas. An excellent defense. A very diverse and dynamic offense that is lead by a QB that is intelligent, athletic and a dominate competitor. Listen this is coming from a staunch life long Danville player and fan not a Boyle Co. homer. Boyle Co. is an elite team in this State. I know they can play with the best teams in this state bar none.

Hey Hatz, these guys are not aware of Boyle Co. abilities. Also I would like to know the 7 6A teams that would be favored. Just because they are in 6A don't mean squat. There may be a couple but not 7.

Boyle County has played excellent football for years.

As far as any team in 2A competing with Boyle...not even close. Maybe DeSales or mayfield could stay within 21 vs the varsity. (Danville got within 22 with late scores vs the JV team). As far as 4A South warren could hang only because their coach knows the entire Boyle offensive and defensive schemes. Johnson Central could keep it close 7-14 points. In 5A I don't see anyone who could pull off a W. In 6A Male and Scott County I would say definitely beat Boyle. Trinity probably would beat them and that's about it. IMO only 2 teams I would guarantee a Boyle loss and 4 more would make it a heck of a game. Everyone else just isn't on that level this year.
