One year there were 3 teams from Cincy in USA Todays top 10.....I was impressed...my answer is YES

The Big North United in Jersey and the Trinity League in California will give the GCL South a run for its money year in and year out. You can check the records for any period of time you'd like and you'll find great football that is comparable if not better. You can also throw in the Indiana Metro Conference and the WCAC in Maryland, DC and Virginia as on par.

There are several in the south- Alabama and Georgia that could possibly given them a run for their money. One being Hoover and the other Colquitt County in Georgia. Those districts are tough for sure

I'd contend there is no better coaching in the country than you see in the GCL South. Mix in a good deal of high end talent at all 4 schools and you have a league that is consistently one of the best in the country. When all four teams are "up" it will be right there as the best. In the "down" years, they are still in the elite group near the top.

 

The main thing is the "up" years are the norm, and the "down" years are few and far between. That's what makes the GCL South elite...

I don't know enough about other conferences around the nation to say for sure. I'll say this year the GCL South is absolutely loaded. I can't imagine any conference having four better teams.

 

GCL South does benefit conference wise, by being a small conference. Only four teams and three of them are very good to great annually, so the conference is never watered down. With LaSalle being so good the last couple years, the GCL South has improved to perhaps an all-time best this season.

Yes the GCL is one of probably the five best conferences in the country 9 out of 10 years. Check their record against other states teams threw the years. It is an absolute grind!

Absolutely NOT. Dumbest thing I heard tonight. Get real people. Florida, Texas, and Alabama top 100 teams are in a different league then your GCL.

 

Florida, Texas, and Alabama have more top notch teams than the GCL...but those are entire states, not conferences. You do realize that all of the GCL schools are within a ~20 minute drive of one another, don't you? I challenge you to name a conference grouping from Florida, Texas or Alabama that come even close to that density of talent.
