Will Manual ever win a playoff game again?

Featured Replies

I'd guess Manual is closer to HHS than X and T in numbers...

Manual has more boys (819) than HHS has boys and girls combined (807). HHS has 395 boys. I believe X and T have close to 1400 each. HHS is near the bottom of the enrollment numbers for AAA. I did not realize how big a school Manual is, 7th largest in the state. Good odds for the guys at Manual too as there are over 1000 girls.

:D We've been trying to let you guys in on this secret forever...

By the way, the numbers you listed support GT. Manual is +400 from HHS, roughly... and -1000 from X and T.

I never said they didn't however your math is a little off. Manual would be -580 from X or T. :D You would not use any multiplier when only comparing one sex.

Knute, they can and do draw kids from "all over."

Remember, you can't self impose restrictions on your own school district and then complain that others won't do the same. The practice is not only stupid but it is un-American.

Manual beats X....PRP beats Male.....

Oh yeah....here's Trinity...

You call Jefferson Co and get back to me

I have, a Non-Resident can attend any pay tuition...here's the kicker the home district may pay some of that tuition.

Right you are... I was disciplining my cat, and got distracted, and did HHS to X and T instead of Manual.:jump:
as in the other post call 485-3011 and ask them. You are wrong, no students that live outside jefferson county can attend any Opption or magnet school. That inculeds manual and male, central butler, and many middle school.

Apparently the "pay tuition and attend JCPS schools" doesn't apply to Male, Manual, Butler, etc. However, even if it did, I think the claim that these schools would have exactly the same ability to draw players from outside of Jeff Co or Kentucky as the big privates do is absurd. I can only imagine the accusations of illegal recruiting that would follow if Male and Manual opened up out-of-County admissions and had as many non-Jefferson County impact players as X and T do.

What if they only took the top 2 teams for the playoffs?

Lots of people have been saying that since we went to this format.

I don't remember before this(last years), what was Manuals road like?

Darn cats! Unfortunately for Manual they just happen to be in a brutal district. It is the nature of the beast that there are several districts in the state where the 3rd best team in one district would easily win another district. Like you said, you all have been close to beating X, T, and Male. Will make it that much sweeter to beat them all if you ever do! Nothing is impossible.

Not in the next 3-4 years with PRP on the rise and Butler coming back they may not make it. It will really show this year as to how much Manual lost last year and that the cupboard is pretty bare on overall talent, unlike the last 6 years.

We'll see.

I remember MY senior year was supposed to be a big step backwards with the loss of players from C/O '01. Instead, we had the best year any Manual team has had since the '88 team.

I'm just saying, sometimes being a better TEAM, and playing with heart and desire trumps having less talent.

Well, why not. Don't worry about what others say about you, just do the right thing. That is one of the problems with public education- no competition. Every other segment of our nation (lawyers, butchers, auto manufacurers, etc. compete). Why should public schools get a free pass? Competition would sharpen them. Weak schools, if forced to compete for students, would either improve or wither and perish.

If you don't think there's competition in Jefferson Co, you aren't paying attention.

Most of that talk radio stuff about public schools doesn't apply to Jefferson Co. as a whole. Individual schools, maybe, but not the whole district.
