I know a young signal caller that had legendary half of football in a FTJFL game. Unlike others I am enjoying my second time through with this one and the big stage can wait. Enjoy life and the small moments you don't get them back. Wait your time practice your craft and put trust in the coaches. Lastly work on both sides of the ball and play a second sport. It all has away of working out. Options are a great thing!

50? Man, he was almost driving when I was born.

What kind of numbers do both programs have?

HHS listed 37 on their roster sheet. Do not know the # for Lex. Cath. but was probably 8-10 less than the birds.

The Knights have 33 freshmen on the roster, but I'm not sure how many of them were at the Highlands game.

Cooper Schwabach is going to be good. Coached him in Jr Ftbll and he was a stud RB/LB the whole year, thought he was an 8th grader the whole time.... he was a 7th grader.

Man that's a darn good Highlands Freshman team I watched last night!!!

 

I haven't seen too many Freshman games since my son played Freshman ball 5 years ago so I don't have a lot to compare them to but I can tell you they seem like one of the most athletic teams from top to bottom.

 

RB's where punishing guys, Defense was swarming to the ball like a typical Highlands team would and the Special Teams blew away my expectations.

 

Good Luck this rest of year, you have me sold on attending some more games this year for sure.

My goal this year is to catch both a freshman and a FTJFB game. I haven't been able to in a while and I really miss both.

Both ways for sure. They only have a few kids who platoon.

Heard from a former coach of a lot of these boys that they looked very good. From balls being kicked into the end zone every time, outstanding QB play, to finishing tackles with a purpose. That's great news for the "program"!

 

Now before anyone decides to say something crazy like maybe they can move to Varsity, hahaha, seen that said a ton lately, let's remember that these boys played a great "freshman" game. Just like JV kids played a good JV game.

 

Either way, great to read about a Baby Birds win after a tough loss to the big boys of T. Keep up the good work Freedies.

That helps tremondously. SK platoon's, and as far as winning games it will be to their demise to do so against good teams anyway. I get it because they have about 50 kids... They have enough talent to field a very strong team if some went both ways but not so much with the platoon.
