That's great.

My kids' grade school used to have a walk-a-thon every year where each kid was asked to seek sponsors and raise $75. I wrote that check every year. It's hard enough selling items for a fundraiser but when you walk up to a door empty handed and try to solicit money, it's nearly impossible!

 

Kudos to this school!

NDA probably still has their fruit sale. I always suggested to just write a check for the profit on the fruit that my daughter had to sell as well as the same fruit that I had to help box.

 

No go.

It gets old.

 

Then where there are causes we all really want to give to we can be out of juice.

I always bought fruit from my nieces when they were at NDA! Much better idea than those lousy candy bars or discount cards to restaurants that I never used!

So it was a low hanging fruit sale! :banana:

I actually used to use those restaurant coupon cards. But usually all that other stuff is junk and overpriced.

My brother in law was asked to sign a waiver for his daughter to walk route 8 and pick up trash. Participation was 100% mandatory. He told them it was nuts to have kids walk that highway to pick up trash. Wrote a check for $100 and said "She is participating with cash".

If a kid knocks on our door we buy from him. Good lesson for the child.

By the way, I love those pizza kits that come around once in a while.
