August 28, 201511 yr I actually used to use those restaurant coupon cards. But usually all that other stuff is junk and overpriced. The restaurant cards I actually do get some use out of, although I typically can't find the cards a few months later. I never buy any merchandise....candles, cookie dough, gift wrap, any food....overpriced, and the company sponsoring the fundraiser usually makes more than the organization trying to raise money. I'm a sucker for raffle tickets though, despite the fact I never win anything. As a coach, fundraising is the least favorite part of my job, but it is a necessary evil. It does however teach kids an important lesson, and trying to sell something to the public is a valuable skill.
