Somerset 33 Mason County 6

Mason's numbers are down and the skill people all graduated. With moving up a Class, this will be a very long year for the Royals.

Mason has some nice size up front, QB was pretty elusive and best plays came from his scrambles and keeping plays alive, RB has some nice size and had me worried (but SHS did a good job on him most of the night) and one of the WR's had really nice speed and a knack for getting a hold of the ball.

Jordan Doan finished wit 159 yards and 5 touchdowns on only 9 carries.

Glad to see Somerset break the 11 game losing streak. Their offensive line and secondary need to improve but they have a chance to have a nice season.

I didn't catch the stats afterwards, I didn't realize he only carried 9 times...good night for Jordan.

That's the way I heard it but I could have misheard it. That 5 yard touchdown run was incredible. I bet he broke 5 tackles, including one by the facemask, and covered 60 yards after reversing field.

Those were the stats per the radio. 450~ yards total offense for the Jumpers. Hatcher had 7 carries for 85 yards and was 7-13 for 163. I think it was 6 carries for 39 yards for Gadberry.

Correct on all counts.

And congrats to the Jumpers on getting into the W column right off the bat this season.:thumb:
