Way to go Rocks!

Way to represent against a normally very very good out of state team.

Rock fans, are the Rocks better than usual or is Ensworth down? A little of both?

A little of both. For Coach Beatty to be so positive about this Trinity team so early is very rare. I understand the Tennessean (Nashville newspaper) predicted a 34-10 Ensworth loss. After watching this game unfold, both parties were right. Ensworth does have only 8 seniors and brought several freshmen to St. Matthews. The Tigers are better than most of the teams on Trinity's schedule. Tonight was Trinity's night.

Congrats. Great way to get the season started. On to BA

Nice win!

Took them to the woodshed. Good job Trinity!

Nice to finally notch a W over those guys, great job Rocks! I thought the defense looked great flying all over the field, swarming the football & stuffing the run just as they left off from last season. The offense did look a little off at times but it's the first game & how can you complain when you put up 38 points(Defense intercepted for a TD as well)??! 38 points from the offense should give this team a W every game, especially with this defense. Super excited about the season, can't wait till Brentwood Friday night! Go Rocks!!

Just got home from this game. Rocks were Awesome! Lowe, the middle LB should be All State this year. He was everywhere. Jones the RB was a very nice blend of power and speed. If their QB doesn't make bad mistakes only a few teams will be able to play with this team late in the season.

At least 8 or 9, maybe 10 kids played both ways, special teams and drove the buses for Ensworth. I still say you can't have that many and beat T. I think Ensworth was getting tired in the 2 nd quarter. They gave up 24 points. And tgat was all she wrote!

Ensworth has always played players both ways, they did it while beating T two straight openers before last night.

Congrats. Great way to get the season started. On to BA

Brentwood lost 47-17 to Independence yesterday, are now 1-1. Could it be that both Ensworth and Brentwood are down this year?

They definitely had more talent the previous 2 seasons. They still had a decided size advantage though, those kids were huge.

I will also add that while I know the passing game will improve, I don't find 9-25 very encouraging.

Possibly - but then again we may have another "special bunch" on our hands again this year. Great start. Like what I am hearing about the "D" - you know what that gets You.

This is the Brentwood public school. Brentwood Academy plays tonight.

Oops. Thanks for the clarification. Way to be on top of the scouting report.

Trinity was very impressive. I was not however impressed with the Trinity fan standing on the 15 yard line on visiting side, green Trinity golf shirt. Taunting their players, coaches and referees. Grown man should not act like this especially high school games. I was embarrassed for our community. I'm sure every fan base has them but this guy was a turd.

Thanks for the correction. I thought it was kind of odd that they would lose by so much.

The complete game broadcast is available at Livestream.com under sub category Ensworth. The video is shot from the Ensworth side of the field and the quality is awesome. The announcers are Ensworth folks-possibly students. One has a British accent! Spoiler alert! The game ends 45-0 in favor of the home team.

It would be nice if the season ticket holders would show up or give their unused tickets to someone! The Trinity students were out in force early and were very vocal and positive. The Ensworth folks had to be reminded they could know "toot their own horns" when Trinity had the ball. I was surprised Trinity staff allowed them to bring in the horns. The Ensworth students all came into the stadium together just before kickoff. You will notice in the video it takes a while for the officials to finally address the situation by warning the Ensworth sideline.
