How much more time does Brian Price get?

Recommended Posts

I wouldn't mind him sticking around for next season. The Reds have a lot of young pitching, and Price is well-equipped to develop it.

This is what I say also.

I always am surprised by how much people worry about the manager in baseball. It is always about the talent first. Even then, stuff happens. Many consider Bruce Bochy one of the top managers in baseball. He is barely a .500 manager for his career. Ten seasons his teams have posted a losing record. Eight of those ten he was 10 games or more under .500.

Bottom line - the Reds don't have the talent right now and they probably won't have enough next year either. Price, Bochy, Sparky, whoever is not winning a World Series next year with the Reds roster.

He needs to be here for these young pitchers next year, but after that I really don't want him. He's in way over his head to be a manager, but I'd sacrifice one more season if he can get the pitchers some good coaching.
