One thing that rarely changes from scrimmage to game TEAM SPEED. X does not have a ton of it. Male and Manual are more athletic. X will struggle with athletic teams. They will have to out execute people in order to be successful.

 

This isn't a new issue, but there was a former coach who could create game plans to the strengths of his teams.

So, they wait till next week to show it? That means you are "hiding" stuff from one team?

 

No coach goes out to "win" a scrimmage that I know of. No injuries, see who can play and build a depth chart for each position. And no, you don't show all your blitz packages or offensive plays.

Let's remember a lot of their players get on here and read some of the garbage being said to dis credit them any time uk#1 gets a lititle excited about something .

 

I remember last year when SK had the fire and several schools/businesses/individuals rallied around them to help minimize their losses. A young man from the SK football team was interviewed on TV and represented his team and family quite well. He was well-spoken and polite. He is now playing at Findlay U.

 

He represents the guys who played in that scrimmage against St. X and they deserve a pat on the back. I hope they take some confidence away from that scrimmage and continue to work on the things that showed up there as I am sure, as well as they played, there is room for improvement.

They don't have the talent to run an up tempo spread offense. Average to below average skill players compared to the teams they play.

Simon Kenton is much better this yr. St Xavier is not way down. Good Coaching will have both of these teams ready by playoff time.

I agree 100%, while the players you mentioned had speed, overall team speed is typically an uphill battle years. There comes a point where a coach has to adjust their scheme a bit to fit their players. Something I'm not for sure the offense has done during the Wolford Era.

 

Adjustments will be made in the coming weeks, so time will tell if the coaches are able to put the players in a position to be successful.

SK only has 85 kids on their roster. St. X has 179 kids on their roster according to Maxpreps! To say X is a down year is a joke! Face it the better team took care of business!!! To say it is a down year is a sorry excuse! SK had more speed also! Nobody could catch Dillon Powell when he caught his 60 yard screen pass!!! One week at a time for SK to win 6A this year!

Anytime St X loses to a team

that has hardly had any winning seasons in their 50 year history, it's a down year.

I got on MaxPreps and looked at one of highlights from this game, and if the Jr. could be does not start for the Tigers it has the potential to be a very long season on Poplar Level Rd. I believe the kid's name is Ridder, and man he looks the part of a QB. Has the size and appears to have a decent arm, plus he will another year to play.
