Highlands 3 Dixie Heights 0 (scrimmage)

Both teams looked reasonably well organized for early in the season. Dixie goalie made several very good saves in the first half and HHS put several close range shots over the bar. Birds scored 3 goals in quick succession late in the game:two on nice shots from outside the area (Klukey and Farley) and a nifty back heel from Freshman Lyndsey Meyer following up at close range. Both Highlands keepers looked solid, but were no where near as busy as the Dixie GK. Highlands played a lot of players at times subbing 6-8 players at a time. Highlands play bodes well for a good season. To Dixie's credit they look like they'll do OK post-Nemo.

There was one substitution where the oncoming players, instead of calling a name, yelled "EVERYBODY"!

Did anyone track the stats during this? Was curious how many saves the Dixie starter had. Guessing a pretty high number of real effort saves too. She did a heck of a job. By time they pulled her, she was looking whipped - but still fighting.

The Highlands goalies looked bored most of the night.

Sounds like the Lady Birds will do just fine without the players who wanted a different coaching staff.

That's KRAZY TALK! Take that Crap somewhere else......

I for one actually think there should of been a change. There....I said it! Why you ask? Not going there......

Any other Sport there would of been a Swift Change. I can guarantee you that!

I'm not a Highlands person so i really don't care about the drama at the school over soccer but my only experience with the coach was i sent my Sophomore to his camp this summer and she hated it. From what i saw in the camp all he did was scream and go crazy about his club players and the moves they were making and not teaching. I'm guessing he brought his team in for some extra practice. Total waste of money and will never send her back or recommend it. Camps are for the girls to learn not listen to a cocky coach go crazy over his club girls. Sorry don't know him personally and really don't care to but if he acts that way at this camp I'm sure that attitude would carry over into school ball. Sorry not trying to start the get rid of highlands coach discussion but I thought i would add an outside perspective.

Just saying that in organized sports, as in life, you have to play with the cards you are dealt. Take what is in your hand and make the best play if you want to stay in the game. Some choose to toss their cards, some choose to stick around and see how the game plays out. Chances are pretty good that those who stay in the game have a better shot at making something good come out of what appeared to be a bad deal.

You can't choose your boss in real life........teach the right lessons early......

Hey, there he is. Haven't seen much of you around lately. But then again, I usually only visit these threads when the chatter gets a goin. Was down at Sis's this morning and there was a lot of chatter going on about the soccer team. Mostly good, but some the usual stuff too. Hope the Lady Birds can have a great season. Wait, am I allowed to call them "Lady Birds". Don't want it to sound like the mascot Bluebird isn't cool anymore! Hahaha!

No you didn't just go there, wait, yes you did. I can hear it coming, tick, tick, tick. I really do wish the girls luck this year, but I am hearing that the shenanigans have already started and they have not even played a game that counts yet. Just curious to hear when the first shoe drops.

Could not have given a better description than you just did. And to add, it is not a "club" coach. A parent coached team that wears a certain soccer club uniform does not make such coach a "club" coach.
