Best Winning Percentages at Current Home Venues

Saw this and thought it was interesting. These are the top 10 winning percentages for programs in their current home gym. Any surprises:

 

1. Gonzaga -- McCarthey Athletic Center (11 years) -- 93%

2. Kentucky -- Rupp Arena (39 years) -- 89.3%

3. Wisconsin -- Kohl Center (18 years) -- 87.9%

4. Memphis -- FedEx Forum (11 years) -- 87.5%

5. Xavier -- Cintas Center (15 years) -- 87.0%

6. Pittsburgh -- Petersen Events Center (13 years) -- 86.9%

7. Kansas -- Allen Fieldhouse (60 years) -- 86.85%

8. Oregon -- Knight Arena (4 years) -- 86.84%

9. Michigan State -- Breslin Center (26 years) -- 86.5%

10. UCLA -- Pauley Pavilion (50 years) -- 86.49%

Nothing surprising stands out to me really. The larger the sample the more accurate the numbers will be.

 

The majority of the top 10 in this list has only been in their arena for less than 20 years. That's a much smaller sample size than the traditional powerhouses that have been in their facilities for 40+ years.

No surprises at all when you look at the competition that these teams routinely face. Take away UCLA's decade of dominance and they may not even be top 20.
