July 27, 201511 yr Look at it as coming back from an injury 2 years ago, wasn't he injured first? Then he should have had a chance to win it last season if he wasn't suspended. Prince Fielder should win it, he's coming back from an injury. He's hitting .337 with a .406 OBP and has 15 homers and 58 RBIs.

I have no problem with Fielder winning it, but if you have to admit he is have a remarkable year especially considering at this age he hadn't played in nearly a year and a half.
July 27, 201511 yr Author I don't think anyone who is coming back from a suspension should win this award. I don't think that is what it was created for. Didn't Mike Vick win the award in the NFL after coming back and riding the pine for a year. He went to Prison and his first year back as a starter was named Comeback player of the year.

It has nothing to do with the Red Sox. I don't feel as though a player that was suspended for a year should get comeback player of the year.

July 27, 201511 yr Author He didn't come back from a suspension and win player of the year. He came back, sat the bench for a season and then won it.He might as well of sat out that year too, he didn't get comeback player of the year for starting after riding the pine. He got it for coming back to how he played prior to going to prison, if he had started that first year he would have won it that year too.
July 28, 201511 yr I think Pete Rose has a better chance of getting into the HOF than A-Rod has of winning the Comeback Player of the Year. No way the voters give him any awards. Luckily Prince Fielder will make the decision easy for them.
July 28, 201511 yr I certainly don't approve of what he did and/or how he originally handled things. Having said that.........the man has paid his dues / suspension, to my knowledge has stayed "clean" along with doing all the things that the NYY, Girardi Required. So yes, I think that he is deserving but I honestly doubt that he is named for the award simply bc A-Rod is so disliked around baseball. I'm not saying that the dislike isn't warranted, A-Rod burned a lot of bridges. I do think he is deserving, he certainly has the numbers and is a big reason why the Yanks are in 1st place and running away. -Rod seems to have himself in great physical shape and his talent as a baseball player can't be denied.
July 28, 201511 yr Not really part of this discussion, but chew on this. If A-Rod remains healthy this season and next, he will in all likelihood pass Babe Ruth on the all-time HR list.
July 28, 201511 yr Does anyone really think he isn't using steroids right now? I mean he's got nothing to lose.
July 28, 201511 yr Does anyone really think he isn't using steroids right now? I mean he's got nothing to lose. I say he's not. No telling how much a year off and DHing this year have invigorated him. That being said, his track record ain't the greatest.
