Cardinals need another bat.

Especially since it seems likely that Holliday is done for the year. I just read at lunch, though, that the Cards are not in the market for any more bats.

IF they don't then MO failed this year at the deadline. If we still had Holliday healthy I would be fine with just this small move.

If the Cardinals don't win in the postseason it will be because of the Offense.

Cardinals have said they will increase payroll. Just signed a new $1B TV deal that starts in a few seasons. Sounds like they are not waiting for that money.

Pineda has been placed on the DL....Yankees are SP shopping. Get on the phone Walt.

I can't be the only one who thinks Byrd is the kinda player that would go to STL and hit like .330 the rest of the way, can I?

Send them Leake, Chapman and/or Phillips.

This has been a crazy deadline and I think the Reds are in a pretty decent spot if they want to sell.

For a while it looked like Leake was way down on the list of pitchers, especially when Price & Shark were available. Price has been dealt, Sox are keeping Shark, and suddenly Leake is the best SP available.

Not necessarily. Ross, Cashner, and Shields are all available and (arguably) more attractive options.

This is on top of a team that already was the most profitable team in baseball. Revenue was close to $300mil with an operating income around $75mil if I remember correctly.

In other words: Bill DeWitt knows business.

Getting rid of Arroyos contract helps the Braves trade a little. Still disappointed.

If there was a subscription fee for Twitter, I would get my money's worth during the week of the trade deadline every year. Love this stuff.

Offer them Leake, Phillips, and Chapman. See if they'll part with Judge and another 2-3 prospects in the 15-30 range.

BTW, I'd put that at about a 0% chance of happening, but it's fun to speculate.

Love it. That would certainly be one one to make a splash and counter the moves made by the Jays. It does seem like a bit of a stretch but it also makes so much sense for the Yankees and it would really patch some holes for them.

Regardless of the Reds activity (or inactivity) this has been the best deadline I can remember. Lots of big-time deals.
