Republicans COULD theoretically win a state primary...

Featured Replies

For the better or for the worse, the Dems have a clear cut message. In their primary they literall have 3 types of characters:

The Heir-Apparent (Clinton)

The Contrarian Crusader (Sanders)

The Background Extras (Everyone else)

Unless Uncle Joe comes in and that's when maybe some of the steam gets taken out of The Donald's continuous news coverage.

But to my original point, they are for the most part unified behind Clinton with only one major contrarian. The GOP has nothing but disunity. That's gonna be hard to beat.

And on that, I strongly believe Rubio is the only person who has the electoral math to beat Clinton. Not the best candidate for me personally, but definitely the GOP's best chance.

Whoever wins the GOP primary better make Fiorina their VP candidate.

This article is full of falsehoods it's laughable. They falsely define his positions on multiple areas.

The biggest problem I always have with modern liberals trying to define a libertarian is to say you can't be one if you are pro-life.

If I believe abortion is murder , since when are libertarians against murder. So the very first point a lone is a joke.

So let me ask you this, and this is not a sarcastic question or trying to be a (insert four letter word here), do you as a libertarian accept Rand Paul as a libertarian.

And yes I took an article from a progressive who was trying to get clicks by making over the top claims to prove his point, but I still don't subscribe to the thought that Rand Paul is a true libertarian and not a Republican with strong libertarian influence.

And isn't it all semantics anyway?

Not in the GOP, where litmus tests about whether or not you are a "true conservative" rule the day. Haven't you seen some of the right-wingers go nuts on here with their hand-wringing over "true conservative" credentials?

I would describe him as the closest thing to a pure libertarian any major party has offered in my lifetime. No candidate is perfect.

You can't be a pure libertarian and win an election. People say they really want to be free but our countries voting record says otherwise.

Every time I hear her talk, I am more impressed. I wish she could somehow be in a debate with Hillary because she would mop up the floor with her.

Don't agree. Trump is not, has never been, and will never be a contender.

So the guy leading the polls isn't a current contender? I agree he is unlikely to win but as of today he is moving the needle.

Back to the fact that there will be 16 candidates that have filed...how many do you think will still be on the ballot by the time we, as Kentuckians, get to vote? My guess, is not very many. Which ticks me off. I said it before, why should people in Iowa or New Hampshire have a more important "say" in who should be a party's candidate that we should. Don't like it at all.

I think the more in the race to begin with the more widespread the Republican Platform may be, we all have to think that the larger and more inclusive the RNC gets the better, right?

I know some of you will say that will never happen, but how many things have happened in the last 20 years politically that we never thought would happen.
