July 21, 201511 yr That was what my intention was or the asterisk...no bottled/canned distribution - kegs only. I'll edit to clarify that. Doh. What you had made sense. It was my reading comprehension that was off.
July 21, 201511 yr Okay...just for curiosity's sake, let's see how many breweries and brew-pubs we can come up with in Kentucky. I'll update the list as we rattle off breweries, and if you comment on the brewery/breweries you mention I'll leave them, but otherwise I'll delete them as I update the list. That way we can keep the thread a little "cleaner". Try to delineate if they are a brewery (distribute for sales elsewhere), a brewpub (brew and only sell at their restaurant/bar), or if they're a combination brewery/brewpub. Brewery: Against The Grain - Louisville Apocalypse Brew Works - Louisville Country Boy Brewing - Lexington Ei8htball Brewing* - Bellevue Falls City Brewing - Louisville Goodwood Brewing Company - Louisville Kentucky Ale - Lexington Red Ear Brewing* - Covington (Out of Business) West 6th - Lexington Brewpub: BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse** - Multiple Locations Bluegrass Brewing Company - Louisville Ethereal Brewing - Lexington Gordon Biersch** - Louisville Hofbrauhaus** - Newport Combination Brewery & Brewpub: Braxton Brewing* - Covington Cumberland Brewing* - Louisville Great Flood Brewing - Louisville * No bottled/canned distribution. Draft beer distribution only. ** Part of a chain. Beer Engine in Danville does some good stuff. As far as I know, they don't bottle/distribute beyond growlers. They're supposed to have a second location opening in Louisville, but it may be under another name. Bardstown has a brewpub under construction on North 3rd Street. Can't recall the exact name.

As far as I know they do not bottle / can their beers at this point. They have a tap room on Broadway. I don't know if there beer is available anywhere beyond the tap room at this time.
July 21, 201511 yr I go to the Ville once month or so, I'll have to check it out. Shoot me a message some time when you're in town. I'll gladly come meet you out for lunch/dinner/drinks.

July 21, 201511 yr Author Love the West 6th IPA. Some of their amber ale showed up at the bar since I last worked. Curious about that stuff. Heller Heaven is a double IPA released as a summer seasonal. Seriously good stuff. Go find a can...yesterday.
July 21, 201511 yr I'm a fan of Country Boy. I like their Shotgun Wedding. Not sure I've had any others yet.
July 21, 201511 yr I like going to Ei8ht Ball, but not really for their beer haha! They have 42 beers on tap and it changes often. Imports are very cheap on Sunday and Wednesday if you want to try different beers that you've never had.
July 21, 201511 yr I'm a fan of Country Boy. Spent a couple hours there in May just after my son's graduation from UK. Special day, so I will always have bias for Country Boy. Good beers, memorable moments with family. I was partial to Shotgun Wedding & a porter I cant remember the name.

July 21, 201511 yr Heller Heaven is a double IPA released as a summer seasonal. Seriously good stuff. Go find a can...yesterday. I'll try it, but I'm not generally a fan of super-hoppy beers. One of the things I like about the W6th IPA is that the hops don't overpower the flavor.
July 21, 201511 yr I like their Shotgun Wedding. Not sure I've had any others yet. Try their Cougar Bait. I really like the Shotgun Wedding too.

As for BBC, I believe the BBC bottled distribution of BBC has disappeared with the convention of Goodwood Brewing.
July 21, 201511 yr Author You're correct on Alltech. As for BBC, I believe the BBC bottled distribution of BBC has disappeared with the convention of Goodwood Brewing. Didn't realize that. I never bought anything from them at retail stores so not a big loss for me.
