July 22, 201511 yr Spent a couple hours there in May just after my son's graduation from UK. Special day, so I will always have bias for Country Boy. Good beers, memorable moments with family. I was partial to Shotgun Wedding & a porter I cant remember the name. Nice little place to have a beer. They have a beer that is made in rum barrels that I really enjoyed.
July 22, 201511 yr Author You're correct on Alltech. As for BBC, I believe the BBC bottled distribution of BBC has disappeared with the convention of Goodwood Brewing. Ahh, I see. I noticed Goodwood in the store this morning.
July 28, 201511 yr Heard about a couple more in the last week or so. Rooster Brew is a brewpub in Paris, and Dry Ground Brewing is a microbrewery in Paducah. From looking at their websites, it doesn't appear that either are distributing at all as of yet.
July 28, 201511 yr Old Jeffersontown Moose lodge to become 3rd Turn Brewing - Insider Louisville A few members of a local homebrewers' association in Louisville are opening up a microbrewery in the J-Town area of greater Louisville here. It's going to be located in a former church & Moose Lodge building, and will be called 3rd Turn Brewing. Jim, it looks like Beer Engine has obtained their approval from the TTB, and are still working on improvements to the Louisville location before they begin brewing suds. (Courier-Journal story HERE). There are also three more Louisville microbreweries in the works. All three are waiting for TTB approval, and all three have buildings they are working on: Akasha Brewing on Market Street in NuLu, Bannerman Brewing on Mellwood Ave in the Clifton Neighborhood, and Old Louisville Brewing Company on Magnolia in Old Louisville.

Apparently they went with that names because there are other breweries around that have the name "Beer Engine", so I wonder if they'll consider changing the name of the Danville location to Monnik as well. July 29, 201610 yr Darkness Brewing opened up last weekend in the Bellevue area. Haven't had a chance to stop in yet.
July 29, 201610 yr It's really good. Much smaller scale than the other local breweries I've been to. I think I tried all but the stout and liked each one - particularly the Black IPA and the Kentucky Common.

Something new and great every time I'm there.Oh yea, I was at a private tasting of all their variants a couple weeks ago. We had Facebook Live going with their brewers. Pretty awesome stuff.

With the glut of craft beer in the NKY/Cincy area I haven't had a chance to try many ATG samplings. That's my fault because I've liked what I've had and have been impressed by everything I've read. I have though, the artwork on their cans is awesome.
