That's why Fort Hood was so devastating. The only people on bases that are regularly armed are MPs.

 

And the death toll in the terrorist attack is now 5. The Naval Petty Officer who was shot has died.

All soldiers should be armed and ready.

These guys at least should be. They aren't on a base where you have the protection from the fences and guards. These guys are sitting ducks. There's a reason the shooter choose these locations.

I too think these officers and other CC people can and ought to be allowed to be armed. My question was and is based on the question of how fast was this assassination? In some cases it would not have mattered. For example, Hinckley shot as surprisingly n quickly at Reagan, despite armed guards it would not have mattered if all were carrying. I just haven't seen an outline of how this unfolded. Until I do, I don't know if this case would have had different results. I believe Ft Hood and Aurora and V Tech may have been different if others were armed.

I really try not to listen to talking heads, on the left or right.

Would allowing military personal to be armed off of bases on U.S. soil go against the Posse Comitatus Act? If so, how can we change this? As they would be highly regarded targets and need to defend themselves.

 

This may be related, but yesterday at a nearby recruiting office there was a local cruiser sitting across the street facing it, about 75 feet away. About an hour later I passed there again and the cruiser was still there, I guess they were watching the office?

 

I don't care who said or did what in the past, left or right, all sides need to stop complaining and fix it so where these people can be armed at all times on U.S. soil.

Why don't we start by arresting and deporting all people on a terror watch list. That at least gets some potential disaster eliminated.

Why do we allow these potential terrorist just sit here in America and plot murder and terror attacks.
