July 7, 201511 yr I listened to a Castelleni interview on the Fox game of the week a short time ago and he said that the only Red that they Would Not listen to deals for was Todd Frazier. I certainly agree with that one but was wondering if you *bgp members) were in that position .....who is on your "No Trade" list. One can list reason / reasons not to move the man if you want or just name the player / players. My no trade list would be ...... Frazier - imo he is the face of the Reds, Team Leader on and off the field. Phillips - Best defensive 2nd baseman in baseball, anchors defense. Pena - Doing an excellent job filling in at catcher, can play 1B and plays hard every night out. O.K, I know this guy would be traded by many if any interest for but I don' know if I would let J. Bruce go. Excellent right fielder, great guy in the community and when he gets going can hit and hit with power. Bruce does need to be more consistent at the plate but a person could say that about practically anyone on the team. I didn't include Votto on my list but would take a Major talent, preferably top of the line LH Pitcher to get me to consider it. Anyway, there is my list and will look forward to seeing others opinion.
July 7, 201511 yr Jesse Winker Robert Stephenson Michael Lorenzen Raisel Iglesias Amir Garrett Tyler Stephenson Alex Blandino Phil Ervin Anthony DeSclafani Nick Travieso Yorman Rodriguez I'd be willing to move everyone else in the organization, especially Todd Frazier, Johnny Cueto, and Chapman. They could get a TON of high level talent for Frazier.
July 7, 201511 yr Stephenson and Winker..... everyone else I would listen. Would take a lot to move the young pitching and Frazier though
July 7, 201511 yr Stephenson and Winker..... everyone else I would listen. Would take a lot to move the young pitching and Frazier though This is just my opinion, and I may be way off, but I really think if the Reds were willing to move Frazier, they could almost pick whatever prospect they wanted off a contending team who was interested. I'm talking a top 5 prospect in all of baseball if they wanted to move him. The team that would get him would have him for a fraction of money this year, only $7M next season, and an arbitration amount in 2017 (probably around $12-$14M). That's a lot of control for a big time right-handed bat for a team in contention.

July 7, 201511 yr Frazier Stephenson Iglesias Lorenzen Garrett Everyone else is available. Some more than others.
July 7, 201511 yr I guess at this point there isn't really anyone on the Big League Roster that I'd get too upset about losing, AS LONG AS THE REDS COME OUT ON THE BIG END OF THE DEAL! If Smart Deals aren't to be made, then don't make them just to make it look like your trying to do something. Reds should be in great shape to rebuild and restock with the trade bait they have...now go do it.
July 7, 201511 yr With the Reds stretching out Cingrani over the next week or so, you'd have to think that Leake/Cueto are done here. Iglesias will be ready soon. The second half may be audition time for many of the young guys. Wouldn't be shocked to also see Byrd, Pena and Bruce dealt.
July 7, 201511 yr Guys I'm pretty certain will be moved: Cueto Chapman Byrd Parra Guys I think are more likely than not to be moved: Leake Pena

Time isn't a issue like it is with Cueto.

July 7, 201511 yr And that control and salary level is exactly why the Reds should not trade Frazier. How so? He's going to do a lot of good on a team that has zero chance of competing in the next 2-3 seasons. So you would rather hold on to him and let him walk in a couple years? Not sure how that helps them rebuild.

Not sure how that helps them rebuild. We've been saying for a few years that we need a leader in the clubhouse. We finally have one in Frazier I'd think. Maybe he'd be good to keep around with all of the young talent we'll have playing? I don't totally buy into that, but could see that side.

Not sure how that helps them rebuild. I do not buy into the theory of getting rid of everything and start over. Teams like the Reds dream of having players that are as productive and cheap as Frazier. Trade him after 2016 if you want but not now

The whole "leader in the clubhouse" thing is completely overrated. They could get elite level talent for him. This team is going to be in for a long couple seasons the next couple years while the young arms come into their own and learn as they go. Start surrounding them with young talent. Winker, Ervin, Blandino, Suarez maybe, and then get some guys for the likes of Cueto, Chapman, and Frazier and you exponentially speed up the rebuild process.
