Point blank, it was some dumb white dude that put himself in a situation where he was going to get whooped. Like someone pointed out earlier, if this had happened at a frat house, the result would have been similar. The only difference is that it was two people with different color skin.

 

Whatever these dudes were fighting about, I seriously doubt it started because they are black/white.

That it was stupid to put himself in that situation. There were a bunch of people ticked at him for whatever reason, and he didn't have a single person there to back him up. He was in a bad situation, and had he been more intelligent, he wouldn't have been whooped.

 

I'm sincerely not convinced that this fight was about race in any capacity. It looks to me like a dude made a whole group of people mad, and in a sense got what he had coming to him.

If you are a life threatening situation, you have the right! If you are willing to punch a police officer you WILL have no issues harming anyone else. Yes, he was running away, but I'm tired of punks! I am willing to bet within the next 10 years the person who punched this officer would be in prison for some very serious charges. Remember his and we can discuss this again in 10 years, or sooner.

 

Sorry, shooting someone should never be a desired or hoped for option. I'm thankful the cops were able to get control of the situation without any use of deadly force. Since they were able to gain control without it, why would anyone wish they had used it?

 

UKMF and I don't agree on much...but this I agree with him on. The LAST thing most, if not almost all police officers want to do is kill someone. Now, COULD punching a police officer get you shot? Absolutely, and to be honest if a perp puts himself in that situation, then that's on him. However, to WISH for that is a little too far fetched IMO. Mace him, light him up with a taser a couple of times, have his head meet the roof of the police car as he's being gently "escorted" into the back seat. Got no problem with that. But WISHING the officer had shot him...not going to go there in this case.

I agree he had opportunities after the initial beating. We have no clue whether he did at the onset or not though. If he was jumped as the cops claim, I could easily see it being race related.

That is stupid. It was a racist hate crime period and for you to actually come out and say that a white man shouldn't be walking around Fountain Square is just stupid.

It wasn't just one on one. "Some dumb white dude?" Why? Because he was at a bus stop attempting to get on a bus and some other guy starts beating him? And if you don't think that is could have been a black/white issue, then you are unaware of the climate at times on the city. If this was a group of white people jumping one black guy it would be a hate crime, so the same goes here.

News flash. Cincinnati.com just announced the Cincy police will look to press hate crime charges for the beating.

Hope they can catch the thugs. Hate Crime and don't tell me who is racist on here Thrillville. Funny how the media over the past several years have trumped up incidents to make it all about race when a black man is harmed, yet when a white man is beaten by black thugs simply because he is white continues to go on without a shred of coverage is a joke. A few years ago when the black teens beat a poor white guy in mob fashion in Cincy simply because he was white should have been prosecuted to the fullest extent yet most of those punks got off with nothing more than a slap on the wrist. That one should have also been charged with a hate crime.
