Fountain Square erupts in chaos last night

Featured Replies

When officers arrived at the scene to break up a fight, concert patrons began throwing fireworks at police, Capt. Mike Neville said. Despite the large crowd, only a "few" people were arrested, Neville said.

One officer needed stitches after a glass bottle shattered and hit under his eye, Neville said. Another officer was punched in the face.

I'd like to see some of these videos floating around out there. I can guarantee many of these people were out past curfew.

I can't believe how some people act these days. They are very lucky that an officer, or any other innocent person did not get too seriously injured.

There is a video floating around on Facebook of a guy who is lying in street bloody and beaten with people circling him laughing.

THE only time I go downtown is for 3:00 pm Saturday mass at St. Louis.......then I'm back across the bridge.

I was told that this is the second 4th of July in a row where there has been trouble with youth on Fountain Square.

Does anyone know what concert was on fountain square last night ?

I convinced this place I worked at across the street from UC to stop having hip hop, ALWAYS had trouble if there was hip hop. Finally convinced them to stop having DJ's all together.

I seen the video of the white guy who got jumped by a bunch of black people.

When you allow this link to fully load in, scroll down past the article and photos and you will see a Facebook comment section appear, where the first comment is from a guy named "Marc Ackman" who copied and pasted a Cincinnati Police Officer's account of the melee.

It is lengthy, and you will also have to click on the "See More" part at the end of the paragraph to continue to read the entire post.

It is disturbing to say the least.

Officers Hurt During Melee on Fountain Square - Local 12 WKRC-TV Cincinnati - Top Stories

The mob mentality is crazy. I think the cops let them get away with too much. These videos are frightening. We were just talking the day before this happened. I'm waiting for the new OTR area to implode. Something is going to go down over there and you will see a repeat of Main Street from 2001.

Downtown is one of the few areas I do exercise my right to carry.

We just don't go downtown any more. It use to be you were fairly "safe" up to about 7th street, now it's 5th and sometimes down as far as 3rd street.

I didn't lose anything in Cincy, keep my money on the Ky side of the house....

The videos show that how ever many officers there were they needed more.
