Should the SCOTUS Use The Bible As A Basis For Its Rulings?

Featured Replies

Many here and on other forums are upset with the SCOTUS for its ruling regarding gay weddings.

They almost always quote the Bible and say the country will suffer the wrath of God as a result.

So if you think the ruling was wrong (and not so because of the 14th amendment basis) are you saying that the Bible should be used as a basis for law?

Hell. No. They definitely should not use the Bible as the basis for their rulings.

I assume that's a "yes?"

Are you incapable of original thought? Answer the question in your own words, please. At the very least, since you keep tossing out this 170+ year old case, what does it say in short and why is it so important to you in light of this conversation?

I think that the biggest "fight" we would ever see would be all of the evangelicals arguing over whose interpretation of the Bible we'd use.

They shouldn't use the bible but the Church of Scientology. Then we will have some controversial rulings.

For some reason, this little scene popped into my head just now.
