That's what I said earlier. To me, he was clearly the aggressor.

I'm just as certain had he not grabbed her, and not let go when she tried to get away, she would've never swung at him either.

Some guy grabs me, you can bet the house I'm going to fight to get free also. Had he not laid hands on her first, he wouldn't be in the situation he is now.

When you watch the entire video it looks like she has her right hand cocked back and that's when he grabs her. I don't think she was cocking to throw a punch but it could look like that. Regardless, he is the first one that aggressively initiates contact.

This is a great program that teaches young women not only how to defend themselves against an attack in order to get away but also how to be aware and not fall victim to date rape drugging while in bars and what to do when someone has a gun on you and wants to take you somewhere. Lots of great information! At the end of the program, you can put what you've learned to the test as you are "attacked" by an officer.

A part of life is learning how to deal with women. That double standard is something men need to learn to live with or live alone. No way around it. Kind of like n word with blacks and whites.

 

I must say that part of life has been the most challenging lol.

My take is both were wrong and this is the perfect example of what alcohol can do to your decision making. He should've shown better restraint but it was probably a natural reaction to strike back and was done under the influence.

 

He has already shown remorse and has volunteered at a women's abuse center. He should not be persecuted for life IMO.

 

I'm guessing the girl has also learned a lesson here. Maybe it will also change how she reacts in a similar situation down the road.

 

We all have been in crowded bars and been given the stiff elbow to the ribs and when you are liquored up it is not a good recipe.

First thing first this kid is only 19 wondering if he was getting served alcohol?

His lawyer was just on cnn and he backed away from any racial comments being made.

 

He was in damage control mode imo. Pleading for the kid to still have a chance in the future.

 

Everyone deserves a second chance, but I'm not sure any of these violence on women events are helping to prevent future violence from happening when the guys just get a slap on the wrist an move on to another team.

 

After the Ray Rice video I struggle with any male athlete punching a women.

Oh but it does. Someone played the "race" card last night and this morning is backing off those antics. I'm guessing the young man has watched the video and realizes he "may" have gone a little to far with his actions. And now will scramble to do whatever, "volunteer at a women's clinic", smoke screen IMO, because doing it for the wrong reasons, again IMO, to save his reputation.

 

I don't know this kid and maybe he has done lots of volunteering and community service over the years and is an upstanding individual, but from the video, it doesn't appear that way. Hope he gets his life back on track.

Yeah how do we know she didn't warn him to let go or she would Strike! Who knows? And I don't care what language she used towards him. What's the ole saying? Sticks and Stones..........You never hit a woman! Especially in this situation. He could of let go and walked away way before this got out of hand. But he didn't!

This is a perfect example of women thinking they can do whatever to men with no repercussions.

 

Stop it a D1 football player doesn't have any reason to hit a woman in the face.
