Heard today that Cov Cath had to forfeit the game yesterday to Beechwood for using an illegal pitcher.

I heard that same thing. This means BW is the # 1 seed, HC #2, CCH #3, and Holmes #4.

Who and how was it illegal?

I'm guessing it has something to do with time between pitching outings by a particular player.

Well, a rule is a rule....but if I'm Beechie, I ain't too proud of this one. Basically, Krumps made the mistake of thinking the rule was 72 hours between outings...which would have made him available to throw the 2/3 inning he was used in this one....someone ? pointed out to the umpire today about 3:00 pm that the rule actually states 3 calander days...making Tuesday the third day...

Talked to a CovCath player and he told me that Coach thought he only had to wait 72 hours prior to pitching him.....

 

Now to those who have followed CovCath baseball, do you really think Coach doesn't understand/know the rules, or do you think he knew what he was doing? By forforeting this game he let BW know he beat them, (by this point in the game BW was down for the count) and he also didn't leave it up to chance as to whom CovCath was going to play, nor have to face Curley in the first round of the District.

My question....Beechwood just played something like 4, 5 games in 4 days...all big games?...Moore hasn't pitched since Friday? They must be absolutely loaded with pitchers to have that kid not appear in the semi's, finals, or the district game vs HC....I know two wrongs don't make a right...I'm just curious...as far as I'm concerned, if it's the rule then CCH should have known better

Proud or not, they get the # 1 seed, and get to play Holmes in the first round.

As 2Short said, a rule is a rule. There are penalties for rules violations.

 

If the rule was violated, CCH SHOULD forfeit the victory.

Actually, if he played by the rules he may not have beat them and he knew it so he rolled the dice and got caught. I don't think it is a psycological win for CCH.
