June 20, 201511 yr Since 1962, prayer in schools has been illegal according to SCOTUS. Since 1973, abortion has been legal according to SCOTUS. But I'd bet that a high percentage of people who "convert" from Republican to Democrat is determined by social issues, not economic. JMO.

I converted from Republican to Democrat during the Recession of the early 1990's. I voted for Slick Willy in 1992, but not in 1996. Never voted for another Democrat Presidential Candidate. However, women vote more on social issues with regards to having liberals help them; therefore, I agree with you.

"For more than a decade, women have been more likely than men to favor an active role for government," said a Pew Research Center report released in March. "And recent surveys show that higher percentages of women than men say that government should do more for the poor, children, and the elderly." Women advocate strengthening government regulation, especially on health, the environment, and food and workplace safety, much more than men do." I guess it would help if both parties would do something.
