How about East Carter?

 

I've never seen the East Carter girls play either. In fact, the only teams I've ever seen play girls basketball are Rowan County, Magoffin County, West Carter, Elliott County, Rose Hill, and Russell.

1. Rose Hill- Two of the top 10 players in the state, plus they have Britt Faulkner to run the offense. They will repeat.

2. Russell- One of the best frontcourt's in the state, but guard play is questionable.

3. Rowan County- Return alot of expierence from a regional runner-up, plus one of the best coaches in the game right now.

Too early for rankings.

"Transfer season" is not over.

You see how it determined last year's champion so wait till school starts in August for rankings.

While it may be premature to be doing rankings, if there are no significant transfers, injuries, etc.; I would agree with this top three.

2. Russell- Okoro, Fortman plus guards have improved.

3. Raceland-Will really be tough, especially when Vanderhood comes back

4. Rose Hill- Top two players in the region. Must get a supporting cast. Britt could be the difference.

5-8. Toss-up. East, West, Boyd, Ashland. All have their plusses- East has Tachett, Myers and a good system. West has the Burchetts(if they come back 100%) and tradition, Boyd has a lot of experience, Ashland's young girls are now in high school.

9/10/11. Fleming Co.,Morgan Co., and Greenup Co.

12/13 Lewis Co and Elliott Co.

14-16 Bath Co., Elliott Co. , Fairview.

I have witnessed it - she is a baller. I have seen some of the best returning girls in the 16th region play, and this one is on a different level.

She is only a freshman and yes she has more talent than those two - but keep in mind that I'm basing that on the only two times that I've seen those two play.

Sounds like the female version of Lebron.

This new freshman is a good player and very athletic but she is coming into a new system. I've heard through the grapevine that the Lady Vikings have another tough schedule this season. Bryan Station, Henry Clay, Lafayette, Scott County, Montgomery County, Louisville Assumption, Mercer County, Mason County, Woodford County and Lexington Christian.

The Lady Vikings ALWAYS have a tough schedule, year-in-and year-out.
