Eckersley and Welch would have the wins in three different decades, but not all of them with Oakland. Plus, they don't fit the hint. The only other "old" guy that I remember was pitching for the A's in '90 was Rick Honeycutt. Not sure where all he's bounced around.

What makes this so hard is the guy played his entire career with the A's, but he only pitched a total of 10 seasons. Hard to imagine him winning games in 3 decades but only pitching 10 seasons. His career total in wins was a whopping 58, with over 1/3 of those wins coming in one season, and over 60% in two seasons. Take those two seasons away, and is career record is 22-41. June 17, 201511 yr Good call. Forgot about him. Sat out our 6 or 7 seasons. Yep. Won 22 games one year, and many thought he should have won the Cy Young award. Came back and won 12 the next and was out of baseball 2 years later. He did have substance abuse problems, but many blamed Billy Martin for overworking him. Somehow he found his way back to the majors in 1990 after being out of the league for 7 years, pitched 24 innings, got one win, and his career was over. Good question, LB.
