This thread is fairly encouraging. I know many think that the Reds are headed for a "dark period" but I think they'll be okay. There seems to be a fair amount of talent, particularly pitching, which is crucial.

One of the guys in my office is a huge baseball nut. We talked about how the Reds' window has likely closed, but the future is not nearly as grim as some suggest. In the "dark ages", the Reds were running Jimmy Haynes, Paul Wilson, and others out there on Opening Day. This team won't be that bad because of the quality pitching depth in the organization.

If some of these guys pan out, and the Reds are able to get a decent return for Cueto and/or Chapman, I think they'll be okay. Championship contenders? Probably not.

They missed their immediate window but if their smart with Cueto and Chapman, they might have a chance in a few years to do something.

Another very good outing by Stephenson tonight.

Travieso with a nice outing as well.

6 innings, 3 hits, 1 run and 6 K's.

Another nice night for Yorman Rodriguez as well, 2-4.

What level is Travieso now?

He's pitching for Daytona in High A ball. Putting together a really strong season. His ERA is at 3.02 right now, in 56 innings he has K'd 49 and walked just 17. Pretty good stuff for a 21 year old. Last season in Dayton he went 14-5 with a 3.04 ERA.

Robert Stephenson

Last 26.1 innings: 8 hits, 4 walks, 36 strikeouts.

Those are some sick numbers. AA is no cake walk.

Wonder if Phillips has to be DL'd if Yorman will be brought up?

Probably not. They'd probably just go ahead and bring up Meso if he's DL time is up.

DeJesus would play 2B most likely. :thumb:

I wonder if DeJesus leads off. The way things are going on offense right now I wouldn't change a thing, I'd insert DeJesus right into the leadoff spot in place of Phillips and keep everyone else where they are.

Schumaker or Negron will get the majority of those starts most likely.

I hope not.

You and me both. I think we see Skip in LF and DeJesus at Second.
