June 22, 201511 yr Author The Reds have agreed to a slightly-above-slot $1.35MM bonus with second-round pick Anthonio Santillan, Jim Callis of MLB.com reports on Twitter. He was taken 49th overall, which came with a $1,227,800 pool allocation. Santillan rated as high as 63rd on pre-draft boards, with MLB.com giving him that slot. His fastball can reach the upper nineties at times and he possesses a big breaking ball, giving the high school righty plenty of upside. But MLB.com says Santillan has a long way to go in smoothing and repeating his delivery, as well as adding a legitimate third pitch.
June 23, 201511 yr Author In Billings last night... Blake Trahan went 2-5 with a triple, steal and 2 runs. Brantley Bell went 1-3 with a walk, steal, RBI and a run. Tyler Stephenson went 1-2 with a double, run and 2 walks. He's now off to a 5 for 8 start early on with 2 2B, 4 BB and 1 K.
June 23, 201511 yr Author Yorman Rodriguez was a perfect 3-3 with a walk last night. He was on a few game cold streak before that but has been playing very well for a while now. If he is figuring things out and it seems he may be he could be a big boost to the system.

June 26, 201511 yr Author Louisville totaled 24 hits as a team last night. Getting in on the action and continuing his hot streak was Yorman Rodriguez. He went 3-4 with a single, double, home run (8), 2 runs and 5 RBI. Yorman Rodriguez is at .349/.411/.488 - .899 OPS in June. At Pensacola Jesse Winker had himself a nice game as well. He went 2-5 with a home run (4) and 2 RBI. Jesse Winker is hitting .300/.375/.471 - .846 OPS in June (79 PA's). At Dayton Seth Varner pitched 7 innings allowing 2 runs and striking out 4. The Reds southpaw and 10th Round draft pick last season out of Miami OH is having a great season. He was the MAC pitcher of the year and a 3rd Team All American his last season in college. To date for Dayton he has thrown 78 innings, struck out 77 and walked only 5 (that's not a typo). He has a 2.88 ERA. For Billings Kevin Garcia went 4-5 with 2 doubles and an RBI. He missed all of last season with an injury but looked promising playing for the AZL Reds in 2013 were he hit .308/.383/.449 line and showed great plate discipline (23 walks, 27 whiffs in 214 at-bats). He is a Center Fielder with some speed and power potential. For the AZL Reds pitcher Mason Felt made is long anticipated debut after being drafted in the 5th Round in 2012. June 26, 201511 yr Author Starting Pitcher Barret Astin has been promoted to AA. He was the main piece acquired in the Jonathon Broxton deal with the Brewers. The Brewers drafted him in the 3rd Round in 2013. He has earned his promotion with a line of 74 innings pitched, 61 K's, 18 BB's and an era of 2.29. Maybe the most important stat is he is posting a ground-ball rate of 63% and has yet to give up a HR on the season, very important since he will pitching in GABP potentially someday.

Daytona *Alex Blandino went 2-5 with a run. *Carlton Daal went 2-4 with an RBI and a steal. Dayton *Wyatt Strahan allowed a run in 8 innings with 6 strikeouts. Billings *Kevin Garcia went 2-5 with an RBI, steal and a run. AZL Reds *Juan Duran (rehab) went 2-4 with a double and a solo home run.
June 28, 201511 yr Author 6/27/15 Pensacola *Jesse Winker went 2-3 with a walk, steal and a run. Dayton *Gavin LaValley went 3-5 with a home run (3) and 2 RBI. At just 20 years old Gavin is having a very nice season so far hitting .278 with a .351 OBP. He has 16 Doubles which should eventually translate to more HR's. *Brian O’Grady went 2-5 with a steal (21) and a run. Billings *Kevin Garcia went 3-4 with 2 RBI. *Mitch Trees went 2-5 with a double and solo home run (2). The 11th Round pick of the Reds is off to a nice start. He's a Catcher and just 19 years of age.
