August 12, 201511 yr Winker a triple short of the cycle tonight. Pet peeve. MLB keeps sending out notices when guys are a triple shy of the cycle. I can deal with it if they are a HR, 1B or 2B shy, but triples are so rare, change the algorithm to not send out these meaningless notices.

He throws his FB in the 92-94 range with a plus slider and a curveball and a change. What makes him special is his ability to work down in the zone and locate. He impressed in Spring Training. GOODYEAR, Ariz. — Every time Reds manager Bryan Price has been asked who looks good in camp so far, he mentions Nick Travieso. Travieso, at 21, is actually the youngest pitcher in camp. The former No. 1 pick (14th overall in 2012) is coming off a breakout year. He went 14-5 with a 3.03 ERA at Single-A Dayton. He went 4-0 with a 1.56 ERA in August. That earned him his first invitation to big league camp. "We get the reports," Price said. "But when you get to see these young guys perform, it leaves more of an impression than a group of statistics. He's been great. He's a physical guy who's throwing at the bottom of the strike zone, which is very important to see guys that don't just have arm strength but bottom-of-the-strike-zone command. He's has a very, very good slider. He's a yes-sir, no-sir guy. The rest of the organization is excited about him too. It gave me even more excitement to see him personally." It impressed me that he repeated a league, repeated the Midwest League, and was a force this past year," Price said. "I think he's grown into his body. He's more physical now. His velocity got better throughout the course of the year, as opposed to regressing in the second half, which isn't uncommon with pitchers, especially young pitchers. His velocity on his slider increased. Pitch quality and command was much improved."
August 13, 201511 yr Author Robert Stephenson may have been pulled from his start tonight with an injury. Possibly the shoulder. I'm just seeing stuff posted on various forums but nothing definite. He was pulled after just 50 pitches tonight but he was also struggling with command so that could be why. Praying it's nothing serious if it's true, he was bumped up a day and rumors were swirling that he was maybe going to take Lorenzens next turn in the rotation.

August 13, 201511 yr Nothing other than he left the game, with what as of now is being called an unnamed injury. Let me tweet one of the Clippers announcers, they are quick in responding most of the time.
