July 31, 201511 yr Author Finnegan strikes out the side in the first in his debut. Ended up giving up 2 ER's with 4 K's in 3 innings if work. Not terrible but not great. Love that he didn't walk anyone however. If he can keep that up he will be great.
August 1, 201511 yr Author Cody Reed with an awesome first start tonight for the Blue Wahoos. 7IP, 5H, 1ER, 2BB, 6K's. Gave up a run in the first and that was it.
August 3, 201511 yr Stephenson went 6 innings allowing 3 Hs, 2 BB, 1 ER & 5 K's last night. Improves to 4-0 with a 2.25 ERA and an OBA of .183 with a 1.00 WHIP in 6 starts at AAA. No doubt in my mind he's in the rotation to start next season. Starting to really dominate the minor league level.
August 3, 201511 yr ^ I like it, needs to keep improving in the K/BB ratio but he's working his way up the ranks.
August 3, 201511 yr Juan Duran is a guy to keep an eye on. He was injured for most of the season, but since returning from injury has just destroyed the ball. Young, huge, and has a TON of power.
August 3, 201511 yr ^^ 30 Games - 15 Doubles 1 HR 22 RBI BA - .296 OBP - .336 OPS - .818 41 K's in 119 PA is bit alarming
August 3, 201511 yr ^Strikes out way too much still. He's hitting like .460 when he makes contact. :lol2:
August 3, 201511 yr Author Juan Duran is a guy to keep an eye on. He was injured for most of the season, but since returning from injury has just destroyed the ball. Young, huge, and has a TON of power. Huge guy with huge power and a huge arm and huge strikeout numbers. He still intrigues me due to his age. I think he'll have to be kept on the Reds 25 man roster in 2017 or the Reds will loose him, so he has one more year to figure things out a bit more and cut into the K's. I'd hate to see him picked up by another team and then explode when he's like 27, he's only 23 now. Pretty sure Yorman has to be kept on the 25 man next season or the Reds risk losing him. I don't think that will be a problem however. I remember when the Reds made the Duran and Yorman signings, it was a huge splash for the Reds in terms of an International deal. Hopefully the two can live up to the hype before its too late.

August 3, 201511 yr Author I'm guessing he'll get called up in September and I agree that he'll be in the rotation next season. He will make his debut at some point this season. Like you said it will probably be in a September call up, no need to start his clock early. When he does make his debut I hope it's at GABP because I'm in there, hopefully in some scout seats.

You can get guys with a world of potential but if they take a while to develop you risk losing them or have to call them up before you're ready. I wish they would institute a foreign player draft.

Duran is at the AA level right now, so that gives him the rest of this season and all of next to continue to develop. He hasn't seemed fazed by AA pitching this season. I've always heard the biggest jump a player makes in the minors is the jump from A ball to AA.
