August 4, 201511 yr Amir Garrett and Brandon Finnegan both take the hill tonight for Daytona and Louisville respectively. I'm surprised that Garrett hasn't been promoted to AA. In 102 innings this year he's given up 1 HR.
August 4, 201511 yr I'm surprised that Garrett hasn't been promoted to AA. In 102 innings this year he's given up 1 HR. Me too. I expected him at AA after the Future's Game. One thing I've learned with the Reds minor league system, specifically with pitching, is it seems they are extra cautious and conservative with their handling of young arms. Ever since Homer was brought up too soon it seems they've started being extra careful. Not a bad thing IMO.
August 4, 201511 yr Author I'm surprised that Garrett hasn't been promoted to AA. In 102 innings this year he's given up 1 HR. It was kind of shocking to see Romano get the bump up to AA instead of Garrett. Garrett is 2 years older and has better numbers in high A, made the futures game, is on the 40 man roster and is a top 100 guy.
August 4, 201511 yr Author Alex Blandino went 2-5 in his debut at AA. He Doubled, Homered, Walked and drove in 2. Winker went 3-4 with a HR an RBI and a walk.
August 6, 201511 yr Author Keury Mella made his Reds organizational debut tonight and struggled with control but had a decent outing. 5 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 4 BB, 4 K.
August 6, 201511 yr Cody Reed has thrown 8 scoreless innings and struck out 12 for Pensacola tonight.
August 6, 201511 yr Author Cody Reed has thrown 8 scoreless innings and struck out 12 for Pensacola tonight. I was waiting to see if they ran him out for the complete game but it looks like Weiss will finish it off. Dominating performance by Reed tonight.
August 6, 201511 yr Author Adam Duvall with his 3rd HR in 4 games for the Bats tonight. #28 on the season.
August 6, 201511 yr Author It's impressive to me that Cody Reed was able to strike out 12 batters and only through 94 pitches in 8 innings.
August 6, 201511 yr Adam Duvall with his 3rd HR in 4 games for the Bats tonight. #28 on the season. Great start but I don't see him being more than a 4th OFer in the bigs.
