May 26, 201511 yr Johnny Depp could face 10 years in prison for taking his dogs to Australia Seems like a pretty steep consequence for what could have been an honest mistake. I'm sure he won't get it, but figured I'd post it here since he's a heart throb for a few on here.
May 26, 201511 yr I actually saw this on "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver". Evidently Australia has a strict policy against bringing animals into their country due to concern over potential diseases. Sounds like Depp knowingly violated the law, and the elected Australian Official (I think he was the Commissioner of Agriculture) appears determined to make an example out of Depp.
May 26, 201511 yr Depp: What are you in here for? Convict #1 : Murder Convict #2 : Robbery Convict #3 : Assault Convict #1 : What are YOU in here for? Depp: I took my dogs to Australia SO BACK OFF ME MAN!!!!!!!
May 26, 201511 yr When I saw the thread title, I thought wow...I knew his movies had stunk for a while now...but jail time? Edited May 26, 201511 yr by BigVMan23
May 26, 201511 yr I think he should get ten years for claiming that Yorkies are dogs....and lose his man card...
May 26, 201511 yr I think he should get ten years for claiming that Yorkies are dogs....and lose his man card... That is assuming Depp ever had a man card in the first place.
May 27, 201511 yr That is assuming Depp ever had a man card in the first place. His black book is man card enough for me. He's no Derek Jeter or Justin Timberlake but the man has lived.
May 27, 201511 yr On the off chance that he does real time, he best cut his hair or he will be wearing it in pigtails.
May 27, 201511 yr Here's my guess, if anybody goes to jail, it'll be the pilot. Depp may get hit with a fine, but that's about it. IMO, I'd say there's zero chance that most in the government want this type of "black eye" (having Depp go to jail) to risk what I'm guessing would be some substantial tourism money. I mean, even if you're not a fan of Depp's, I could imagine there'd be some serious conversations about whether or not to go to Australia. People won't know the whole story. They'll just know that "that's the country that threw some guy in jail because he brought his dogs with him". Australia won't want to come off as the bad guy in some 80's A-Team episode.
May 27, 201511 yr This is exactly why I don't go to Australia more often. BTW, I agree with PP92, Mr. Depp has an impressive list of former female friends...ie. Kate Moss...including Amber Heard his wife.
