Everyone that is someone in Kentucky knows that the only real football played in the state is in Independence.

I have to admit that when I saw the thread title, I thought soccer was somehow involved.

I have, I'll take north over south any day/week/year, it's just better football IMO

This would be the equivilant of me starting a thread about how great CovCath is going to be this year, then calling out Louisville Waggoner and Shawnee to man up and play us.

Oh I don't disagree with you one bit. I just take exception to the person indicating that Louisville football isn't as good.

The boys down on Shelbyville Rd would seem to prove that wrong. I suspect the ones down in Bowling Green would as well. Though, I have to admit I am fuzzy on what constitutes 'real football'.

Given NKY's lack of success in 6A I have a hard time believing that it's 'just better football'. This is not to say that Louisville football is inherently superior, but to point out that other than Highland's success all of NKY's teams are competitive, not dominant.

 

Since the 6A class split, Beechwood has taken a backseat to Mayfield in 1A, NCC is tied with Desales and both are behind Fort Campell, No NKY team won in 3A, until Highlands entered 4A NKY had no wins there either, once Highlands left 5A NKY had no winners in that class, and I've already mentioned 6A.

 

Anyway, I don't think any one region has the 'best' football. Every region has good teams and bad teams, and some regions have great teams. No sense being a homer about it.
