In both sports football and baseball when the Bengals or Reds have good young talent, they look smart by locking the guys up and then sure enough the next year the player gets hurt. It never fails.

I'm not sure what that means really? Reds have a pretty big need for a decent bat in LF. It's not like the Reds are sacrificing anything moving him to LF.

I just can't see Mesoraco and his body type anywhere but catcher or first base, at least the Donkey and Ludwick were tall and somewhat athletically built. I guess if every ball was hit directly to him he would be an option. I honestly don't know a good solution

Otherwise, offer him up but there won't be many takers if at all with his current issues and contract. It's a shame what's going on physically with him because I like the kid, he's a gamer.
April 30, 201511 yr LF simply isn't that difficult to play fellas. He's more than athletic enough to get it done there. Runs well, throws well. Situationally is sound. I'd trot his hind end somewhere to shag ball after ball. With all due respect to the folks on this board, I can say with assurance, you don't have to be an elite athlete to adequately play the easiest of the 9 positions defensively.
