Kentucky & Indiana in talks to renew series

And his philosophy is stupid too, IMO. A true road game better prepares a team than a neutral site game does. Again, IMO.

I'm not trying to dig but does Pitino and UL play many home and home series?

As a fan, I love home & home series. But I understand why some coaches prefer neutral venues.

That's the issue for Cal, he doesn't want to play in front of a gym that is 90% IU fans.

No because like Coach K they realize the tourney is played in big arenas on neutral floors so it is the best way to prepare their teams for March.

How many road games do teams play in March .........

By the way I love how Deuce said Coach K's philosophy is wrong only the most successful coach of the last 30-40 years. Haha

I didn't say it was wrong, I just don't agree with it. No more, no less.

They've played at WKU a couple times in the last several years right off the top of my head....

Talk about a program not gaining anything from a game.

Depends where they play...

I understand that's a good thing. UK already has that at UNC or UL. Why add another?

Gosh, it could make them a tougher team?

Well that's pretty arrogant.

One game a year isn't going to make or break any season IU has, regardless of how good UK is.

And I submit the 2011-12 regular season game. Made IU's season, and has pretty much kept the program relevant since. Without this game, Crean is likely gone by now. It was kind of a big deal for IU.

Other have touched on some good points.

My two cents:

All these teams already have to play road games in conference. Not like they don't occasionally have a "hostile" environment to play in, if you think that makes them tougher.

The NCAA tournament is played at neutral sites in arena's that get bigger at each stop. There's your blueprint (so to speak). Why not use it whenever possible?

UK/IU became a huge home-and-home rivalry in a different era of college basketball. Almost all variables have changed since.

Gosh, it could make them a tougher team?

It could. But so could playing Cincy in a "Home and Home." Or the same with a lot of other programs that are just as close and just as good. :thumb:

Agreed. I don't like it but I understand it.

Gosh, it could make them a tougher team?

Or - heaven forbid - lose?
