I've got to believe no matter what the records, both places would be packed for the games.

That's the issue for Cal, he doesn't want to play in front of a gym that is 90% IU fans.

How does playing UK help IU? The Big Ten is better than SEC.

I agree IU needs to worry more about Eastern Washington then UK.

To be honest, I could care less about Big Ten this and SEC that. This used to be a good rivalry with great basketball. That's what I miss.

He did it every year when they played UNC and UL right?

Coach K has the same philosophy with regards to playing neutral court games.

And that is goofy. I'd LOVE to put the blue and white on and come running out to thunderous boos at Assembly Hall, it would fire me up!

IU needs this way more than UK. does IU play basketball?? They have been bad for a long time. How Crean is still there I don't know.

Only true road game they play he is made to play it in the ACC Big 10 challenge...

And his philosophy is stupid too, IMO. A true road game better prepares a team than a neutral site game does. Again, IMO.

I used to think that way, but I am not sure it makes much difference when it is all said and done. If you are an elite school and play more than 1-2 non-conference road games you are the exception and not the rule. Not sure there is any correlation.

I tend to agree that it probably all evens out at some point. My point is that I wouldn't let neutral vs. a road game keep me from playing a series if I really had intentions of playing it.

Sadly coaches control the sport. I would also assume money from two neutral games > home/away. Just my assumption and not sure on that one.

I'd say you are right. Bigger venue at a neutral site means more $$.

Playing at Assembly Hall does zero for UK's program. I would like to see them start playing IU again but if IU won't unless it's home and home then that's on them.
