Every player wants to win championships but it's not THE factor for every player. Otherwise, no one would pass on playing at Alabama.

 

Don't discount being a fan of a particular school - especially a state school.

 

Don't discount playing in front of the family.

 

Never discount relationships with coaches.

I don't see how playing for your in state school, in the SEC, could ever be a mistake. There are a lot of things that UK or Louisville can offer that no one else can. Big time football, close to home, chance to play early. It's about what's most important to him. If that's winning a National Championship, he should wait for an offer from OSU, Bama, etc. With UK and USCe being his final two that doesn't seem to be most important.

 

He'll choose the best fit for him, or at least I hope he does. UK, USCe, or someone else.

I think if a player made a decision only based on a championship possibility he may be miserable for four years. Have to take everything into consideration. Like Clyde said, if that was the only factor no one would ever get someone Saban or Meyer wanted.

Not bashing on his decision at all. I'm sure that UK sold their program very well. I don't know what his most important assets are but I just don't understand how any kid in Kentucky that has an offer from Bama and UK can pick UK over Bama. I just see it as redundant. You want to be the best, you want to win, and you want to play high caliber football. Why wouldn't you pick Bama?

 

Like I said, I think he's a great ball player. One of the best in KY. He's a good kid and plays for a great coaching staff. I just don't know why you would pick UK over Bama. Distance is obvious but regardless.

Unless he wants to go pro, I wouldn't fault a kid for choosing UK over Bama. Could play more at UK, play in front of family, and could be apart of something if UK can continue to progress. If he went to a place like Bama, who knows if he would see the field until junior or senior year?

 

I wouldn't make my decision solely on championships, I would want to have my fingerprints on the team whether we are 0-12 or 12-0

^ I would say Daniel will play linebacker at UK. He could be inserted in power running plays for tough yards.
